Making a unique casing for my scissors using left over fabric
Hello everyone
Greetings to you all @needleworkmonday, I hope you all are doing great, it's nice to share with you today one of my recent and very useful diy of a scissors keeper I made for myself, I believe you will love the outcome and how useful it will be for you.
As a seamstress, I have about 3 scissors I use, one for cutting of fabrics, one for cutting my pattern paper and the other for cutting thread after sewing with my sewing machine, having all these scissors on my sewing machine or on my table makes it look untidy and most times I find it in different places when I want to use a particular one, so I decided to make a single case/pack where I can easily pick whichever I want to use and return it back after use, the good thing about this is that, it has handle where it can be hang on the wall for easy access, this is not for seamstress alone, it can also be useful to all needle workers who uses scissors as one of their working tools. You can get this done with pieces from left over fabric just as I did.
Join me as I show you how I made my scissors keeper.
From the pieces of some left over african print fabric, I measured out 12½ x 9" and the same was used to cut out same shape on a black satin fabric.
To make the handle for hanging, I cut out 10 x 2", it was folded to the middle then folded in two and sewn together at the tip.
I cut out soft interface and ironed it on both pieces I cut out and made a little curve on one edge of the fabric
It was placed together with right side to right side while the rope I made for the handle was placed inside at the side I made the curve and it was sewn round, leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out.
After sewing, I turned it inside out and ironed it neatly.
It was top stitch from one edge to the other leaving the base.
To make the fold, I had to do it carefully as I marked 2½" away from the handle on both sides on which I folded the first case inform of an angle down to the base
The other side was folded on the first case I made to make the second case.
The remaining was folded back ward to make the third case just as seen in the picture below.
Finally, it was taken to the sewing machine after folding and I sew it together in a V shape.
Now I have a zig zag shape when folded for keeping my scissors

I loved it, especially the practicality of being able to store several scissors in the same keeper. It's a great idea.
Thanks so much @karen.art, I'm glad you like the idea.
I loved this idea. It is useful and looks simple to do. I will take the time to make one for myself.
Thanks @inici-arte, it will be a very good idea if you can make one for yourself.
