Making a beautiful purse with patches at the base using 2 different fabrics for a friend as a gift
Hello beautiful people
Greetings to you all in this great community and I hope you all are doing great, it's my pleasure to be back here after taking few days off, the truth is that I have missed you all and a lot of your creativity, well, I'm glad to be back, it's has really been a beautiful weekend with a lot of parties to attend and that has really taken a lot of my time that I hardly had enough time to visit my sewing room, thank God it was a successful weekend party and I had a lot of fun. Today I will be sharing with you the making of this beautiful purse I made for my friend with patches at the base using 2 different fabrics.
This is one of my recent design of purse I decided to make for my friend who is in need of a simple purse for her phone and few items she can go around with, I have been making different types of purse but this time, I wanted to creat something different from what I usually make, I decided to use 2 different fabrics to create something nice and this is what I came up with, I saw that it was nice combining 2 different colors of fabrics together, well, I'm not too sure of color combo but I know with time, I will get better.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process
I measured and cut out 13 x 8.5" from the main fabric with interfacing ironed on it and same shape of lining
From the other fabric, I cut out a circle of 6" which was later cut into 2
The half were placed on lining to cut out same shape and it was taken to the sewing machine to be sewn together on the right side.
It was turned inside out and top stitched just as seen below
I folded the main fabric to 2 to locate the mid point as well as the semi circle, I notched it on both sides and I placed the semi circle on the main fabric mid point to mid point then I sew on it
I went ahead to sew the zipper on it, placing the zipper on the main fabric with the zipper head facing down while the lining was placed on the zipper, I sew on both sides and it was turned inside out lining to lining and fabric to fabric
I sew on both sides leaving an opening on the side of the lining where it can be turned inside out
I sew on the 4 edges with the seam line facing up with 1.5"
I trimmed off the excess zipper and turned it inside out through the opening on the lining and I have this.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the purse I made for my friend, I hope you like it and how nice it looks.
