As we all know, Christmas is fast approaching and I hope we are all preparing for the big celebration, my cousin has decided to visit the village for Christmas and that has to get her into a lot of preparation and excitement, it is an opportunity to visit friends and extended family in the village having great time with them all, in her excitement, she started her preparation very early as soon as they finished their examination at school, while preparing she remembered she needed a bag to put some of her little items for the journey aside the traveling bag which will contain her clothes and other things, to cut cost, I decided to help her with my creativity to make a simple bag as this, I hope this will fit what she wants.

Let me take you through the process of making this bag.

From my fabric as usual, I cut out a piece of 22 x 16" with lining and interfacing which was ironed on the main fabric.

Fir the handle, I needed 50" but unfortunately the fabric was not enough so I had to cut out 2 pieces of 25 x 4" and sew it together to make 50" it was cut out with interfacing

The pieces for the handle was folded and sewn on both sides to make the long handle.

I took the main fabric and sew a long zipper on both sides with the lining on it to cover the rough edges.

I then folded it in two to locate the mid point on which I sew the handle on both sides where I notched.

It was zipped up with the zipper in the middle and the two edges were sewn together with 0.5"

I marked 2 x 2" on the 4 edges and cut it all out.

It was taken to the sewing machine as I sew the edges together on the 4 sides.

That was all, my cousin's boxy shape crossbody bag is ready for her travel for Christmas.

Considering her expenses for Christmas, I hope this has helped her to cut cost of buying the bags in stores, with this, she can put some of her items like phone, purse, makeup and other things in it.

I hope you like the simplicity and design of this crossbody bag for my cousin just as I know she will appreciate it when delivered.

Seeing how beautiful this turned out to be, I think I will make some simple project as gift for other family members in the village just as a Christmas gift and I will be sharing those beautiful items here as they unfolds.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement, until my next post, enjoy your day and i wish you merry Christmas in advance.
