Happy Easter celebration to you all out there, I hope you are all prepared for the celebration of the season, I pray the the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ have a meaningful impact in out lives and inspired us all to be kind, patient and loving to everyone around us. Today I will be sharing with you all the making of this Easter uniform outfit for ushering unit in church for my neighbor. My first attempt of making a peplum blouse with collar.

To celebrate the Easter season, the unit my neighbor is in church decided to put on a uniform so as to stand out on Easter day, all the unit members are to buy this flower fabric and make same style with it. It's a peplum blouse with a basic bodice and a collar on the neckline using matching color satin fabric.

Every member were given 45 x 60" of fabric to make the style that was chosen and my neighbor brought hers to me and asked me to help her in making the blouse.

Cutting and sewing process

First thing I did was to cut out the flare which had some pleat on the waist line, so I added some inches to the waist line measurement and cut out the 360° flare using the waist and full length measurement of the flare.

I cut out a matching lining of same shape which was used to turn it and to add more weight to the fabric as it was too light.

The remaining fabric was used to cut out a basic bodice block for the front and back, I cut out lining as well to turn it inside out leaving the neckline unturned.

The front and back were sewn together at the shoulder and it was placed on a brown paper where I traced out the neckline from the center front to the zipper opening to cut out the collar adding 4" round

It was placed on the satin fabric and I cut out 4 pieces, two pieces on each side

I ironed soft interfacing on the two pieces and the other two pieces serves as lining they were sewn together and each was sewn to each side of the neckline from the center front to the zipper opening at the back.

Finally, the flare was sewn to the waistline and a long zipper was also sewn the the zipper allowance at the back, this is the final outcome.

A matching color skirt will be worn to the blouse to make it look so nice. I hope you like the beautiful outcome of it just as my neighbor did, I'm glad it came out nice at my first attempt.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, enjoy your weekend and have a great Easter celebration.
