DIY//Making a 3 pockets purse with a single zipper to compliment my traveling bag
Hello creative friends
It's feels so great to be here in this great community today and I hope you all are doing great, I bring you my greetings from my sewing room and I hope it meets you well in your respective places. I love what I do most and it's always my pleasure to share my creativity here, today, I will be sharing with you the making of this beautiful purse with 3 compartments but with a single zipper to secure things kept in it.
Sometimes ago, I made a traveling bag for myself which I intends to use for my trip, after making this bag, it is my doings to always make a matching purse to the bags I make just like the designers bags out there, so I decided to make the purse today from the left over fabric to compliment the bag.
The purse is so simple, easy and very useful, it is made with just 2 pieces of fabric, interfacing and zipper, with these few steps, you will be able to make this.
Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process.
From the left over fabric of the bag I made, I measured and cut out 2 pieces of 12 x 9" with lining and interfacing while the interfacing was ironed to the fabric.
The lining was placed on the right side of the main fabric and sewn round, leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out.
It was turned inside out and I top stitched on the openings.
I cut out a zipper of 10" and sew the side I top stitched on the zipper after I had tape both ends of the zipper with pieces from the main fabric.
It was placed together with right side to right side and I marked 1" away from the edge at the down part and 5" upward.
It was taken to the sewing machine and I sew on the line a marked.
It was turned to the right side and now I'm having the part I sew on in the middle, I placed each side to the other and sew it down on both sides.
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the purse I made to compliment my traveling bag with 3 compartments and a single zipper.
I hope you like the simplicity and final outcome of my creativity.
