DIY// simple design of a small pouch I made for my neighbor (Abisola)
Hello creative friends
It's a beautiful and lovely day out here, I hope you are all doing great just as I am having a nice time in my sewing room. It's my pleasure to share with you my recent creative design of a simple small pouch I made for my neighbor (Abisola).
As you may know, I love making things for myself, family and friends with my creativity, since I don't really have other things to share around, I prefer making little items as this for people around me as gift, and they really do appreciate it. There was a day I held one of the pouch I made for myself with some of my little items inside and when my neighbor saw it, she admired it and she was surprised when I told her I made it myself, she smiled and told me it was nice and very creative of me, after which she jokingly asked if I can make one for her as well, I told her not to worry that I will, she was happy about my response. Today I decided to make the pouch I promised my neighbor and this is it.
Women really love to go out with a small bag, pouch or wallet where we can easily put our things when going out, that is one of the reasons my neighbor will prefer something as small as this just for her phone, money and keys.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process.
Not minding the color, I cut out 13 x 10" on the main fabric and lining
It was taken to my sewing machine as I placed a zipper on the main fabric with the zipper head facing down, the the lining was placed on it as I sew it, it was repeated on the other side as well and it was top stitched on both sides on the right side.
It was turned to the wrong side and the zipper was held 1" downward as I measured 1" square shape on both sides of the base and 1" inward at the top.
The lines were connected and cut off.
For the small handle, I cut out a small piece of 8 x 2" which was folded in two then in half and sewn on both sides.
It was placed on one side on the zipper with the zipper opened to the middle and I sew on both sides.
The opening at the base was clipped together and sewn on a straight line just as seen below.
It was turned inside out through the zipper opening and this is the outcome.
It is so simple, easy and very useful, I hope you like the beautiful outcome of it.
I just finished making it and i'm very sure my neighbor will love it when delivered to her.
At this point dearest Bimpcy you need to open a bag, wallet, and pouch line because you’re good at it and you do have the experience. We love to see how you use those gifted hands of yours to make beautiful things, please continue to bless us with your beautiful works because we love them😃
Wow! That's so nice of you @diyhub it's a great idea and I will sure look I to it, well, this is just a way of creating awareness to people on what I do, I have actually gotten some orders from people who saw what i gifted out to friends and I will be sharing those soon. All thanks to the community and hive at large for the support and encouragement on my creativity.
