Good day to you all on this lovely day @diyhub, I hope you are all having nice time with your creativity, as we all know creativity is endless, we can decide to create something nice from anything just as we have the inspiration, I have decided recently that most of my things will be made with my creativity instead of spending money to purchase things I know I can make myself and I have been doing great with that and also, I have use my creativity to give as gift to people around me and that has given me great joy.

Today I will be sharing with you the making of this drawstring bag I made for my friend as a gift pack, I was discussing with my friend and she made mention of giving one of her friend a gift and she was contemplating on how to package the items, I suggested and volunteered to make a simple drawstring bag which she could use instead of the normal nylon bag or a gift pack that will cost her some money, she accepted and I went ahead to make this beautiful bag with two types of left over fabric.

let's get started with the cutting and sewing process

I measured and cut out 2 pieces of 8.5 x 5" from the flower fabric.

On the plain fabric, I measured and cut out 8.5 x 9.5"

The flowers pieces were taken to the sewing machine and I sew each on the opposite sides with half inch as seen below

On the plain fabric, I cut out 7.5 x 2" for the rope casing, which was sewn on both edges of the flower fabric

The make fabric was placed on a matching color lining and I cut out same shape

The lining was sewn on the top and bottom, leaving the sides unsewn.

It was folded with lining to lining and fabric to fabric.

It was sewn round leaving an opening on the lining to be turned inside out, the I measured 1" on the 4 sides which was sewn together to have a seated base.

The opening was sewn together and the lining was put inside the main fabric.

To make the rope for the drawstring, I cut out a long bias strip, folded it in two and sew it down, it was cut in two and I inserted it in the casing I made on both sides.

The drawstring were drawn to close it up as seen below and that was it.

Some of my items were put inside to see how it will look.

This is how it looks when tied together, this is not bad for a gift pack I think.

I was once told that the best gift is one made with our own hands. This little bag is beautiful and most importantly it is unique and very practical. Excellent work my friend...
