Greetings to you all today and i hope you all are doing well on this beautiful Sunday, having a nice time with family and friends, it's good to also have a break sometimes after all the work done during the week, well, this might not be possible for some people who also work on Sundays but for some of us, it's always a time to rest, visit people and different places or for others who take the opportunity to prepare for the new week ahead, whichever you are doing, I hope you are having a nice time out there.

Quickly today, I will be sharing with you this simple and beautiful headband I made for myself from a left over fabric I made for one of my little friend sometimes ago, I love the fabric so much that I kept the pieces, it was a leopard skin fabric of black and white, the pieces has been with me for awhile now until I finally decided what to use it for.

Recently, I made a black turban cap for myself for a church program and after the final outcome, I felt I needed to add something to it to make it look beautiful I wanted to add an applique to it but I later changed my mind when I saw someone on a program on TV who put on a turban cap with an attachment to the front, immediately I got an inspiration to make mine, but I decided to make mine detachable which can be used for two purposes, a headband and a turban applique.

Let me show you how I made my headband/applique.

After making my turban cap, which was set aside and looking beautiful already, I went ahead to make the headband.

The first thing I did was to cut out my head circumference measurement plus 1", which is 22" by 5"

It was folded in two and sewn together with ½"

It was turned inside out and neatly ironed with the seam in the middle, I marked 2" on the edges from which I marked 4" intervals.

With my hand needle and thread, I sew a long stitch on the line marked and knot it, then I input my fiber into it to the next line.

I continued the same process to the end.

I cut out an elastic casing of 2.5" by 6"

It was folded in two and sewn together, after which it was turned inside out and I inserted an elastic band of 1" by 4" into the elastic casing.

Finally, the elastic band was sewn to both edges of the headband.

To cover up where I tied at intervals, I added this applique to it to give it more beauty.

This is the headband on the the black turban cap as an applique on my head. I can sometimes decide to wear the turban cap with or without the headband.
