Greetings to you all and the members of this lovely community @diyhub , I hope you all are doing great, it's another beautiful day out here and it's with great pleasure that I bring to you my recent design of an inner purse with outer zipper pocket I made for a proposed hand bag for a friend.

Last week I shared a post on how I made a matching color fabric hand bag with my choir anniversary outfit, the bag was so simple and beautiful, it was admired by most people especially in church, that bag really announced my creativity and luckily, I had people who would want me to make something nice for them as well, I got 3 orders of different types of hand bag which I promised to deliver as soon as possible.

To start with, I decided to make the first hand bag for my friend in church with a small purse just as the customized and designers bag that comes with a purse but unfortunately, there was no power supply for me to start with the bag so I decided to make the small purse first before proceeding with the main hand bag.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process

Cutting process.

I measured and cut out 8.5 x 8.5 piece of fabric

I cut out another piece of 8.5 x 5" from the main fabric for the flip cover

For the outer zipper pocket, I cut out a piece of plain black fabric of 8.5 x 7"

For the handle, I cut out a piece of 2 x 7"

2 small pieces of 1.5 x 4" was cut out for the zipper.

Sewing process

The 2 pieces that was cut out for the zipper was sewn on the two sides of 7" zipper right side to right side and turned out just as seen below.

The zipper was placed on the main fabric for the purse and sewn at the top right side to right side.

The piece for the outer zipper pocket was placed on the zipper and sewn on it, it was then top stitched on the right side.

It was folded in two and I sew on it to make the pocket.

I took the piece for the flip cover, folded it in two and make a curve at the edge, before sewing it on the other side of the zipper.

It was top stitched on and was used to cut out same shape of lining.

I folded the piece for the handle, sew on both sides and sew to one side of the zipper.

The lining was placed on it right side to right side and sew round leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out.

It was turned inside out and top stitched round with the opening folded in.

It was folded up with 5" and I sew on both sides

Pressing button was fixed on the mid point of the purse and that was all.

I hope you like how beautiful this turned out.

The purse looks great, and so do the colour and fabric. Well done and thanks for walking us through the entire process.
