Hello creative friends

It's another beautiful time in this community @hivediy and I hope you are all having great time at your respective places, it's with great pleasure that I bring to you today my recent creative design of a scrunchy headband with a hidden candy pocket that I made for my little niece.

This is a beautiful way to showcase creativity by making this look different from the usual scrunchie, this one also has a hidden pocket for candy and other items that can be hidden in it like like lip gloss, well I know you will find this very useful as well.

Let me take you through the cutting and sewing process

The first thing I did was to measure and cut out 35 x 5" on a satin fabric for the scrunchy

I also measured and cut out 6 x 2.5" on another fabric for the hidden candy pocket.

Sewing process

On the main fabric, I measured 5" from the edge inward and I placed the zipper on it with the zipper head facing down then I placed one of the pieces for the hidden on it and it was sewn together

The same was repeated on the other side with the second piece for the hidden pocket sewn on it

The long piece of the main fabric was sewn together with the zipper pocket as well.

The excess zipper was trimmed off and it was turned inside out.

I cut out an elastic band of ½ by 10" and inserted it in the long piece that was turned inside out

The edges were folded in and one edge was inserted into the other and top stitched on

This is the final and beautiful outcome of the scrunchie I made for my little niece with hidden candy pocket.

With the zipper, a little child can hid her candy in it and as an adult, one can hid lip gloss and other little items in it since it has a zipper to keep it safe.

My niece will be so glad to have this for her hair and to also serve as a safe for her little candies.
