Hello beautiful people

Greetings to you all out there, I hope you are doing great on this beautiful Tuesday, it is with great pleasure that I bring to you the quick process of making this expandable purse I made for my friend's mother, it is very simple and easy to make with just few steps, you can achieve this.

My friend approached me that she needed a purse for her mum and she wanted me to make one for her with my creativity after seeing most of my work, she would like her mum to have something simple she can go out with to casual places and as such I have to make something not too small or big for her but something she can put her phone, money, handkerchief and other things, so I made this expandable purse for her.

The edges at the top can be folded in and expanded as well that is why I called it an expandable purse, if the items are more, it can easily contain it.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process

I measured and cut out 2 pieces of 9.5 x 13" of fabric with lining and interfacing, the interfacing was ironed on the main fabric.

On the main fabric, i measured 2" on both sides before the zipper was sewn on it from where I marked to the other end with lining on both sides.

It was folded lining to lining and fabric to fabric, then I sew it round leaving an opening on the lining where it can be turned inside out

I marked 2" square on the edges of the lining and main fabric just as seen below.

I folded it in an angle shape with the seam line facing up and I sew it on the four edges.

The excess were trimmed off on all sides.

It was turned inside out and I sew on both opening after which it was top stitched round.

I folded the edges inward, measured 2" on the four sides and sew it down.

on the zipper, I sew a little piece on it to cover the rough edges and this is how it looks after sewing the four sides down.

When zipped, the edges at the zipper side will be folded in.

This is the final outcome, I hope you like the simplicity and useful this purse will be, just as my friend appreciated me for it, it's just as she wanted it to be.

Let's just say people around me encourage and challenge me to be creative, this has really helped me to improve so much than I thought, I'm also happy doing this.

Thanks so much for your encouragement and support as well.
