Cutting and sewing process of a turtleneck gown with pocket using Ankara fabric
Hello everyone
It's another beautiful morning today and it's feels good to have you view my post. Today, I will be sharing with you the cutting and sewing process of this beautiful gown with turtleneck and front pocket using Ankara fabric.
During Christmas, I was given this fabric by my sister's friend to help her make a simple dress but then I was so busy that o couldn't meet up, we both agreed that will make it for her as soon as I'm free.
Yesterday, I decided to work on the dress as I had nothing doing and I was able to get a matching fabric for the pocket and turtleneck.
Let's get started.
First, I cut out the lower bodice using my her measurement using her waist, hip and full length after which it was cut out from the 3yards of fabric I was given.
The upper bodice was cut out on a brown paper in princess dart bustier form which was transferred to the main fabric to cut out same shape.
All the pieces were sewn together separating the upper bodice from the lower bodice.
To make the dress look good and stylish, I added a matching fabric to the pocket opening as well as the center front. To make the turtleneck, I cut a long piece of the matching fabric and pipe it round the neckline.
The upper and lower bodice were sewn together as well as the sleeves to make a complete outfit.
Hello Bimpcy. This dress looks beautiful: it doesn't look so easy to make, but with the talent you have, it's sure to be easy. Your sister's friend was surely delighted with it. Congrats ❤️
Thanks so much @lauramica for your comment, sewing is one thing I find joy doing, no matter how stressful it looks, the end result is what really matters, I'm glad this came out beautiful.
