Being creative with plain and pattern fabric for my friend and i
Hello everyone
It a happy new year to you all in this beautiful community @hivediy, this is my first post in this community this year and I'm using this opportunity to wish you all a prosperous and productive year with greater accomplishment.
I hope we all have good time sharing our creativity here for the benefit of others to learn from us.
This is another beautiful creativity from your girl @bimpcy, I love it when I made something and people appreciate my work, most especially when the outfit I made looks good on me, my clients, family and friends or every other person's I made outfit for, it really gives me great joy.
Today I will be sharing with you the making of this mixed plain and pattern fabric I made for my friend and I for an event.
I made a post sometimes ago on how I made a senator outfit for my male friend, I was actually dared to make the outfit not that I willingly made it for him, just because he knew I had enrolled myself in a tailor's shop to learn how to sew male outfit and obviously I've spent like 2 months there, so to him (my friend), he assumed that I should be able to make an outfit for him perfectly, surprisingly did and this is the outfit he's wearing.
I and my friend were to attend an event and we bought the fabric sold mainly for people who will be attending the event, obviously I was going to make mine and he dared me to make his which I did.
After cutting and sewing his, I made mine as well
cutting and sewing process.
From the fabric sold, we got 6yards of the pattern fabric and 2½yards of the plain black fabric. The pattern fabric was used to sew the bodice of the top while the plain black fabric was used to sew the trousers and the sleeves of the top.
The remaining fabric was then used to make my own outfit of six pieces gown with improvised 3D applique.
Let's get started
The remaining pattern fabric was used to cut out my lower bodice of six pieces gown from my waistline to full length, using my waist circumference, hip circumference and full length measurement
The lower bodice was sewn with lining for the front and back and it was sewn together and set aside.
With the plain material, I drafted out a basic bodice pattern with bust dart on a brown paper the placed it on the plain black material to cut out the same shape for the front and back upper bodice.
After sewing the upper bodice, it was sewn to the lower part that was initially set aside to make a sleeveless gown as seen below
To make the sleeves, I used the remaining pattern fabric to cut out a basic long sleeve and sew it to the armhole circumference.
Seeing that the dress is plain, I used the pieces cut out from the pattern fabric to make a 3D like applique to design the front of the dress and some pearl to cover the rough edges.
I can imagine the excitement to wear it and the joy that you can finally wear your own creation. Imagine it is you own design, whoaaa. If only I know to sew, I will also model my own creation.
Anyways I hope you two had fun in the event center ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
