Hello everyone,
From time to time I go through the photo gallery to weed out and delete unnecessary photos. Today, while browsing through old pictures, the photos I took in April caught my eye. I will discuss some of them in a different post. Today I will talk about the snow adventure. If I remember correctly, it was Ramadan. I will talk about something that has become a tradition in our village in recent years. Ramadan coincides with the summer season in recent years. Since the days are hot, people are looking for different things other than cold drinks in the iftar menu. I don't know if anyone has tasted snowy molasses before, but it is a source of cooling in hot seasons. It is also very delicious.

Ara ara fotoğraf galerisine girerek gereksiz fotoğrafları ayıklayıp silerim. Bugün eski resimlere göz gezdirirken nisan ayında çektiğim fotoğraflar gözüme ilişti. Onlardan bazılarını farklı postta ele alacağım. Bugün kar serüveninden bahsedeceğim. Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam Ramazan ayıydı. Bizim köyde son yıllarda gelenek haline gelmiş bir durumdan bahsedeceğim. Ramazan ayı son yıllarda yaz mevsimine denk geliyor. Gündüzleri sıcak olduğu için insan iftar menüsünde soğuk içeceklerden başka farklı şeyler arıyor. Karlı pekmezi daha önce tadan varmı bilmiyorum ancak sıcak mevsimlerde resmen serinleme kaynağı. Üstelik çok lezzetli.

But here's the thing. Where are we going to find snow in the summer? There are a few places in the higher parts of our village. Since the sun does not touch the area where there is snow, snow can be found until a certain month (July, end of August). As far as I remember, the weather was not very hot as this Ramadan fell in April. Even the friend whose picture I shared has a thin jacket on. In recent years, as we have made it a habit, we went to add snow regardless of the weather.

Ancak şöyle bir durum var. Yazın kar nereden bulacağız? Bizim köyün yüksek kesimlerinde birkaç yer var. Karın olduğu bölgeye güneş değmediği için belli bir aya (Temmuz, Ağustos sonu) kadar kar bulunabiliyor. Bu ramazan ayı Nisana denk geldiği için hatırladığım kadarıyla hava çok da sıcak değildi. Hatta resmini paylaştığım arkadaşın üzerinde ince ceket var. Son yıllarda alışkanlık haline getirdiğimiz için havanın durumuna aldırış etmeyerek kar katmaya gitmiştik.

As you can see from the photographs, the snow is in the pits between the stones. In order to reach the part where the snow is, you have to go down three or four meters. It is a bit dangerous, so we are as careful as we can be. One person goes down and cleans the surface of the snow and puts it in bags. My friend did this job. I took the bags he filled.

Fotoğraflardan da anlaşılacağı gibi karlar taşların arasındaki çukurlarda. Karın olduğu kısma ulaşabilmek için üç- dört metre aşağı inmek gerekiyor. Biraz tehlikeli olduğu için inerken olabildiğince dikkat ediyoruz. Bir kişi aşağıya inip karın yüzeyini temizleyip poşetlere dolduruyor. Bu işi arkadaşım üstlenmişti. Ben ise doldurduğu poşetleri almıştım.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the bags. If I remember correctly, we filled them too much. We distribute them not only to ourselves but also to relatives and neighbors. It is also fun for us. We have a nature trip and time passes quickly. When we reach home, it is iftar time. 😄

Poşetlerin resmini maalesef çekmeyi unutmuşum. Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam fazla fazla doldurmuştuk. Sadece kendimiz için değil akrabalara, komşulara da dağıtıyoruz. Bizim için ayrıca zevkli oluyor. Doğa gezisi yapmış oluyoruz ayrıca vakit hızlı geçiyor. Eve ulaştığımızda iftar vakti gelmiş oluyor.😄

If we talk about snowy molasses, we pour molasses on a certain amount of snow and mix it. So this is the recipe. 😅
You can also consume it for dessert. I definitely recommend it to those who are good with desserts.

I go to add snow whenever I can, especially because my mother loves it so much. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of snow molasses in the gallery. I will share it if I go next year. Since I can't remember much from that day, this is all I can tell you. I hope you will like it. See you soon
