Here’s the first book that i've picked up for my Reading Challenge for the year, another one recommended by my girl, well this is a book from her collection to begin with Haha

Fallon meets Ben, an aspiring novelist, the day before her scheduled cross-country move. Their untimely attraction leads them to spend Fallon’s last day in L.A. together, and her eventful life becomes the creative inspiration Ben has always sought for his novel. Over time and amidst the various relationships and tribulations of their own separate lives, they continue to meet on the same date every year. Until one day Fallon becomes unsure if Ben has been telling her the truth or fabricating a perfect reality for the sake of the ultimate plot twist.

Now in all honesty, blurbs almsot always tend to over-exaggerate when they say things like “for the sake of the ultimate plot twist” but Oh I promise you that the wording is fully deserved here!! I honestly did not see that big of a twist coming and I absolutely loved that it! Oh the plot twist was exceptional 😂 It just gave the story that extra ZEST!

A blurb is a short piece of writing that describes or summarizes something longer and more complicated. You might browse in the library, reading blurbs on the backs of books to help you choose what to check out.

No Spoiler Review

This book was alright I suppose and definitely a one time read only, The main character Ben is a total red flag and despite it's promise of a captivating love story, 'November 9' falls short of expectations. While some may find the premise intriguing, the execution feels banal and contrived.

The characters lack depth, often resorting to cliched dialogue and incredibly predictable actions. The plot relies heavily on melodrama and improbable coincidences, stretching the boundaries of believability 🤡, (You Will Agree With Me Once You've Read It) From chance encounters to dramatic revelations, the story is filled with moments that feel contrived and convenient, rather than organic or authentic, Additionally, the romance feels extremely forced and lacks genuine chemistry, which made it difficult for me to invest in the relationship because it really wasn’t going anywhere to be honest.

one positive aspect of the book that I did like was it's exploration of themes such as self discovery and personal growth. Throughout the novel, the main characters undergo significant development as they confront their pasts, navigate their present circumstances, and make choices about their futures.

On an unrelated note little did I know that she has left me multiple cute notes in between this book, and this is came as a surprise to me, and it was genuinely the sweetest thing someone has ever done and it was pretty damn cute.

Overall, 'November 9' fails to deliver the emotional impact and authenticity expected from a romance novel, which will leave you feeing disappointed and underwhelmed.

Well, that’s about it for this review. I really wonder what I’m going to write about next now 😂

Mainly what we look for in a romance novel is that genuine touch that identifies us with each of the characters involved and by not having that touch, I think it becomes something really banal and as you yourself have commented, forced.

I loved the fact that they left you notes in the book, it really is a nice gesture.
