Unforgettable Childhood Memories: A Tale of Restaurant Adventures

Life is not as easy as others think from a distance. Even though we may find the lives of others better than ours, until we get close to them we know almost nothing about them, we can only guess. We meet many people in our life and teach them a lot and learn a lot, similarly, we all keep learning. No matter how difficult life is, sometimes there come such moments in our life that are very funny and we will never forget them. Mostly all these memories are of childhood because we want to spend that time doing many things.

जिंदगी इतनी आसान होती नहीं है जितना औरों को लगता है दूर से देखने में। भले ही हमें औरों की जिंदगी अपने से बेहतर लगती हो पर जब तक हम उनके करीब नहीं जाते तब तक हमें उनके बारे में लगभग कुछ भी पता नहीं होता हम बस अनुमान ही लगा सकते हैं। हम अपने जीवन में बहुत से लोगों से मिलते हैं और बहुत कुछ उन्हें सिखाते हैं और सीखने भी हैं ऐसे ही हम सब सीखते रहते हैं।भले ही जिंदगी कितनी मुश्किल क्यों ना हो पर कभी ना कभी हमारे जीवन में कुछ ऐसे पल आए होते हैं जो बहुत ही मजाकिया होते हैं और जिन्हें हम कभी भी भूल नहीं पाएंगे। ज्यादातर यह सब यादें बचपन की ही होती है क्योंकि उसे समय हम बहुत कुछ कर गुजरने की चाह में होते हैं।

Sometimes it seems that nothing is impossible, we can do everything, but as we move forward in life, we realize that everything is not as easy as we think.

We all have some memories in our lives that make us smile even today. Let me share with you one such day of my life.

कभी-कभी तो ऐसा भी लगता था कि कुछ भी नामुमकिन नहीं है, हम सब कुछ कर सकते हैं पर जैसे-जैसे हम जीवन के पड़ाव में आगे बढ़ते रहते हैं तो हम यह महसूस करते हैं कि सब कुछ इतना आसान भी नहीं है जितना हमें लगता था।

हम सभी के जीवन में कुछ ना कुछ यादें ऐसी होती है जिन्हें सोचकर हम आज भी मुस्कुराते हैं। चलिए मैं आपके साथ अपनी जिंदगी का एक ऐसा ही दिन साझा करता हूं।

This is about those days when I used to study in school, probably in 9th or 10th class. Due to poor financial conditions, there was a shortage of money. But still, parents are parents, they somehow fulfill your wishes. Even if they have to sacrifice their desires for that. One evening I and some friends went out to eat at a restaurant. The restaurant was quite big and at that time we were all small children in a way. We all used to live on money first and then plan to go somewhere because not everyone had enough money to eat anything.

बात उन दिनों की है जब मैं स्कूल में पढ़ा करता था शायद वह नाइंथ या 10th क्लास की बात। आर्थिक स्थिति सही न होने के कारण पैसों की किल्लत तो थी ही। पर फिर भी मां-बाप तो मां-बाप ही होते हैं वह जैसे तैसे करके आपकी इच्छाओं की पूर्ति कर ही देते हैं। भले ही उसके लिए उन्हें अपनी इच्छाओं को मारना पड़े। एक शाम में और मेरे कुछ दोस्त एक रेस्टोरेंट में खाने के लिए निकल पड़े। रेस्टोरेंट काफी बड़ा था उसे समय हम सब छोटे बच्चे ही थे एक तरह से। हम सब पहले पैसे जीना करते थे और उसके बाद कहीं जाने का प्लान बनाते थे क्योंकि हर किसी के पास इतने पैसे नहीं थे कि हम कुछ भी खा सकते थे।

Earlier we used to look at the menu card of the restaurant and then order, but nowadays things are different, first, we order and then we see the money. It doesn't take time to change time either. So it happened that we all had eaten and some friends had already left because calls started coming from their house. We went there in the evening and we did not even realize how the time passed. Childhood days are also like this when small things take a long time without even realizing it and now we don't even have time to talk to each other.

We were probably 6 friends, three of them had already gone, since my house was nearby, I and some of my other friends sat there for some more time. Everyone gave money to one of the friends who was with me so that he could pay the bill. After some time, all three of us also came out and everyone went to our respective homes. Coming the next day, that friend returned the money to everyone and said, take this money of yours. At first, none of us understood anything, then we thought that perhaps he had paid the bill, but we all did not understand why he did so.

पहले हम रेस्टोरेंट का मेनू कार्ड देखकर हिसाब लगते थे उसके बाद आर्डर किया करते थे पर आजकल तो अब कुछ और ही होता है पहले हम ऑर्डर करते हैं उसके बाद पैसे देखते हैं। समय बदलने में भी समय नहीं लगता। तो हुआ यूं कि हम सब ने खा लिया था और कुछ एक दोस्त पहले ही चले गए थे क्योंकि उनके घर से कॉल आने लगी थी हम शाम के समय वहां गए थे और समय कैसे बीत गया हमें पता ही नहीं चला। बचपन के दिन भी कुछ ऐसे ही होते हैं कब छोटी-छोटी बातें लंबा समय ले लेती हैं पता भी नहीं चलता और अब हमें एक दूसरे से बात करने की भी फुर्सत नहीं है। 🙃

हम लोग शायद 6 दोस्त थे उनमें से तीन पहले ही जा चुके थे मेरा घर नजदीक होने के कारण मैं और मेरे कुछ और दोस्त है वहीं कुछ देर और बैठे रहे। जो दोस्त मेरे साथ थे उनमें से एक को सब ने पैसे दे दिए थे ताकि वह बिल भर सके। कुछ समय बाद हम तीनों भी बाहर आ गए और सब अपने-अपने घर चले गए। अगले दिन आकर उस दोस्त ने सबको पैसे लौटते हुए कहा कि यह लो तुम्हारे पैसे। पहले तो हमें से किसी को भी कुछ समझ नहीं आया, फिर हमें लगा कि शायद उसी ने सर बिल पे कर दिया पर ऐसा उसने क्यों कर हम सबको समझ नहीं आया।

We were all curious why he did this, and one of our friends finally asked him why he was returning this money. He said because you gave me these dreams yesterday, and I don't know who paid the bill, I did not give any money yesterday. Then we all kept staring at each other for some time. Then everyone laughed together and said that it meant that we came yesterday without paying the bill. Yes, we did not do it well, but we did all this by mistake, so this crime was not committed, maybe this happened, what will you say?

Whatever those childhood days were, I don't know whether the restaurant owner remembered them all or not. If he did, he would definitely have been abusing us. But whatever it is, it was really fun. Have you ever done this? Even if unknowingly.

हम सब उत्सुक थे कि उसने ऐसा क्यों करा, हमें से एक दोस्त ने आखिर उससे पूछ लिया यह पैसे क्यों लौट रहे हो। उसने बोला क्योंकि यह तुम सपने मुझे कल दिए थे, और पता नहीं बिल किसने भरा मैं तो कोई भी पैसे नहीं दिए कल। फिर हम सब एक दूसरे का मूंह ताकते रहे कुछ समय तक। फिर सब एक साथ हंस पड़े और बोले इसका मतलब कि कल हम बिना बिल दिए हुए ही आ गए। हां हमने यह अच्छा नहीं करा पर यह सब हमने भूल वर्ष करा था तो यह जुर्म नहीं हुआ शायद यह हुआ आप क्या बोलेंगे?

बचपन के दिन भी चाहे दिन थे, पता नहीं उसे रेस्टोरेंट वाले को वे सब याद भी रहा या नहीं अगर याद रहा होगा तो जरूर ही वह हमें गालियां दे रहा होगा। पर जो भी है बड़ा मजा आया सच में क्या कभी आपने भी ऐसा कर है ? भले ही अनजाने में।
