Hola amigos, tenía unos días alejada y la razón es que durante el mes de diciembre me fui de vacaciones para la casa de mis padres y en el pueblo donde viven no hay cobertura ni para mandar un mensaje de texto, eso quiere decir que pase casi un mes totalmente desconectada, lo bueno es que aunque mi teléfono no fue de ayuda para comunicarme si me sirvió para tomar fotografías de lo que fue la visita a mi tierra de los Andes venezolanos y ahora que estoy de vuelta les contaré cómo la pasé y muchas de las cosas que hice, esto lo iré haciendo en varias publicaciones.

Hello friends, I had a few days away and the reason is that during the month of December I went on vacation to my parents’ house and in the town where they live there is no coverage or to send a text message, that means that I spent almost a month totally disconnected, the good thing is that although my phone was not helpful to communicate if it helped me to take pictures of what was the visit to my land of the Venezuelan Andes and now that I’m back I will tell you how I spent and many of the things I did, this I will do in several publications.

Lo primero es que en este país para poder viajar hay que hacer sacrificios y estar muy bien preparados. Tenía desde el 2019 que no viajaba y una de las razones fue el COVID 19 pero desde que empezó el 2022 ya teníamos planes de pasar diciembre con mi familia así que todo el año nos preparamos, lo primero fue comprar una camioneta más cómoda porque nuestro carro es muy pequeño y los niños están creciendo. El resto del año reunimos dinero para hacer los arreglos que el automóvil requería para realizar un viaje de aproximadamente 12 horas y que no nos fuera a dejar accidentados a mitad de camino, cosa que se logró porque la camioneta se portó a las mil maravilla de ida y de vuelta.

The first thing is that in this country to be able to travel you have to make sacrifices and be very well prepared. I had since 2019 that I did not travel and one of the reasons was the COVID 19 but since 2022 started we already had plans to spend December with my family so all year we prepared, the first thing was to buy a more comfortable van because our car is very small and the children are growing. The rest of the year we raised money to make the repairs that the car needed to make a trip of about 12 hours and that we would not be left injured halfway, which was achieved because the truck behaved like a thousand marvels on the way there and back.

Nosotros tomamos carretera a las 6:00 AM y fuimos cruzando los estados Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara, Trujillo, Mérida hasta llegar al Táchira. Todos nos habían informado que para los estados andinos es muy difícil conseguí combustible y que las colas son interminables, a demás nos recomendaron llevar gasolina en pimpinas para echar nosotros mismo por el camino, pues esa también fue parte de la preparación, porque nos fuimos con el tanque lleno y tres pimpinas de 20 litro cada una. Las autoridades ni te preguntan nada al respecto, ya que todas las personas que viajan para esa zona tienen que llevar el combustible. La última vez que echamos gasolina en una estación de servicio fue en Chivacoa, estado Yaracuy, aprovechando llenar el tanque de la camioneta nuevamente. Algunas amistades nos habían dicho que en Barquisimeto en el estado Lara se conseguía, pero cuando pasamos todas las bombas tenían largas colas de autos y otras estaban totalmente cerradas. A partir de ese punto no encontramos ninguna bomba abierta hasta casi llegar al estado Mérida dónde en una estación había una cola como de tres kilómetros.

We took the road at 6:00 AM and crossed the states of Carabobo, Yaracuy, Lara, Trujillo, Merida until we reached Tachira. Everyone had informed us that for the Andean states it is very difficult to get fuel and that the queues are endless, and they also recommended us to take gasoline in pimpinas to fill up by ourselves on the road, because that was also part of the preparation, because we left with a full tank and three pimpinas of 20 liters each. The authorities don’t even ask you anything about it, since all the people who travel to that area have to carry the fuel. The last time we filled up at a gas station was in Chivacoa, Yaracuy state, taking advantage of the opportunity to fill up the truck again. Some friends had told us that we could get gas in Barquisimeto in Lara state, but when we passed by all the pumps had long lines of cars and others were completely closed. From that point on, we did not find any open pumps until we almost reached the state of Merida, where at one station there was a queue of about three kilometers.

Otra de las irregularidades que pienso no debería existir y menos para una zona que es muy visitada por los turistas, es que la carretera del estado Trujillo y Mérida por esta vía está totalmente destruida, hay tramos en los que no se sabe por dónde pasar, mi esposo decía que si estuviéramos en el carro, él se regresaba porque los huecos eran tan grandes que no había por dónde pasar. También en el estado Trujillo antes de llegar a Tucaní nos tocó cruzar por medio de un río, debido a que en el mes de noviembre llovió mucho y muchos ríos se crecieron y destruyeron puentes y acabaron con caseríos completos en los que solo vimos las puntas de las casa porque el resto quedó tapeado de arena. Parecían playas.

Another irregularity that I think should not exist and less for an area that is very visited by tourists, is that the road from Trujillo state and Merida on this road is completely destroyed, there are sections where you do not know where to pass, my husband said that if we were in the car, he would go back because the holes were so big that there was nowhere to pass. Also in the state of Trujillo before arriving to Tucaní we had to cross through a river, because in November it rained a lot and many rivers rose and destroyed bridges and destroyed entire villages where we only saw the tips of the houses because the rest was covered with sand. They looked like beaches.

Con los contratiempos y teniendo en mente la gasolina durante todo el camino no se puede decir que nuestro viaje fue de paseo pero lo bueno es que se nos acabó la gasolina del tanque cuando solo faltaban 45 minutos para estar en la casa y así que echamos una pimpina de las que llevábamos. Sin mentirles por el camino veíamos a los turistas llenando sus tanques a orillas de la carretera.

Llegar a nuestro destino fue como volver a respirar. Que alegría, ya estaba donde me crie, en casa de mis papás, iba a ver a mi familia y amigos. Fueron unas excelentes vacaciones que poco a poco les iré contando.

With the mishaps and keeping in mind the gas all the way we could not say that our trip was a ride but the good thing is that we ran out of gas in the tank when we were only 45 minutes to be at the house and so we took a pimpina of the ones we were carrying. Without lying to you along the way we saw tourists filling up their tanks on the side of the road.

Arriving at our destination was like breathing again. What a joy, I was back where I grew up, at my parents’ house, I was going to see my family and friends. It was an excellent vacation that I will tell you about little by little.
