Short visit to San Simón, a town in the state of Táchira, Venezuela. [ENG-ESP]

Among the mountains of the Venezuelan Andes, specifically in the Simón Rodríguez municipality of Táchira state is this place called San Simón, is a small town with only two streets and approximately five blocks, has a pleasant climate between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.

Entre las montañas de los andes venezolanos, específicamente en el municipio Simón Rodríguez del estado Táchira se encuentra este lugar llamado San Simón, es un pueblito que cuenta solo con dos calles y aproximadamente cinco cuadras, posee un clima agradable entre los 20 y 25 grados centígrados.

It is a small town in which its main economic activity is the agriculture of vegetables such as papa, carrots, lettuce, dill and fennel among others. Although my stay in this place was very short because I was just walking with my family and San Simon is on the way back to our house, we did not miss the opportunity to stop at the Bolivar square, sit down to rest in this beautiful place and take some pictures.

Es un pueblo pequeño en el que su mayor actividad económica es la agricultura de verduras y hortalizas como papá, zanahoria, lechuga, eneldo e hinojo entre otras. Aunque mi estadía por este lugar fue muy corta porque solo estaba de paseo con mi familia y San Simón esta en el camino de regreso a nuestra casa, no dejamos pasar la oportunidad de detenernos en la plaza Bolívar, sentarnos a descansar en este hermoso lugar y tomar algunas fotografías.

Although to enter the town the road is asphalt once you are in it, its streets are sloping and made of stone, its sidewalks are made of bricks with very nice decorated lanterns. There are no trees planted on the sidewalks in front of the houses as in other towns, here everything is very neat and clean.

Aunque para entrar al pueblo la carretera es de asfalto una vez que estás en él, sus calles son inclinadas y de piedra, sus aceras son de ladrillos con faroles decorados muy lindos. No hay ningún árbol sembrado en las aceras frente a las casas como en otros pueblos, aquí todo es muy ordenado y limpio.

The Bolivar Square as its name indicates has in the center a golden statue of the Liberator Simon Bolivar. It is full of trees and bushes well trimmed and cared for. With benches to sit all around and in the center, where we sat down to rest. In each corner it has trees that have been molded to recreate them in the shape of an arch, a detail that I really liked.

La plaza Bolívar como su nombre lo indica tiene en el centro una estatua del Libertador Simón Bolívar de color dorado. Está llena de árboles y arbustos bien cortados y cuidados. Con bancos para sentarse en todo su alrededor y en el centro, que fue donde nosotros nos sentamos a descansar. En cada esquina tiene árboles que han sido moldeados para recrearlos en forma de arco, un detalle que me gustó mucho.

I didn’t see the inside of the church because I didn’t go inside, I only took pictures of the facade and the parish house which is right next to the church.

La iglesia no la conocí por dentro porque no entré, solo le tome fotografía a la fachada al igual que a la casa parroquial que se encuentra justo al lado de la iglesia.

Diagonal to the Plaza Bolivar on the edge of the mountain there is a place like a kind of square, with the image of the Virgin of Coromoto, patron saint of Venezuela, I did not enter either because the gate at the entrance was closed.

Diagonal a la plaza Bolívar a orillas de la montaña hay un lugar como especie de una plaza, con la imagen de la Virgen de Coromoto, patrona de Venezuela, tampoco entré porque la reja en la entrada estaba cerrada.

This is an ideal place to rest for its tranquility, location and climate, for this it has several family inns and is considered one of the tourist places in the state. One thing I noticed is that the most used transportation by the inhabitants of this town are motorcycles because everywhere I looked there were one or more motorcycles, as you can see in the photographs that almost all of them appear.

The stone street ends at the exit of the town, because I forgot to mention that it only has one entrance and one exit.

Este es un sitio ideal para descansar por su tranquilidad, ubicación y clima, para ello posee varias posadas familiares y es considerado uno de los lugares turísticos del estado. Una cosa que me llamó la atención es que el medio de transporte más usado por los habitantes de este pueblo son las motocicletas porque para donde veía había una o varias motos, así como se pueden ver en las fotografías que en casi todas aparecen.

La calle de piedra termina a la salida del pueblo, porque se me olvidó mencionar que sólo tiene una entrada y una salida.
