Maracay's viewpoint in Henri Pittier National Park [ENG-ESP]
On the road leading to the Costa de Oro municipality, in Aragua state, Venezuela, is El Mirador, a stop where tourists coming or going to the beach stop to contemplate the scenery.
This stop has always existed, but before it only consisted of a vacant lot at the edge of the main road, a few years ago the state government invested in turning it into a pleasant space where visitors can admire the entire garden city as Maracay, capital of the state, is called, and also observe Lake Valencia, one of the largest and most important lakes in the country.
This site also has some benches where people can rest and chat, as well as take pictures on a sign with the word Venezuela with the city in the background.
When we were there the police station was closed and there was no police presence, I don’t know if because it was Sunday or almost 6 pm, anyway I think if it really works it is a plus for the place, although during our stay nothing unpleasant happened and there were several families besides us enjoying. We were all coming back from the beach, tired and tanned.
En la carretera que conduce al municipio Costa de Oro, en el estado Aragua, Venezuela, se encuentra El Mirador, una parada donde los turistas que vienen o van a la playa se detienen a contemplar el paisaje.
Esta parada siempre ha existido, pero antes sólo consistía en un terreno baldío a la orilla de la carretera principal, hace unos años el gobierno del estado invirtió en convertirlo en un espacio agradable donde los visitantes pueden admirar toda la ciudad jardín como se le llama a Maracay, capital del estado, y también observar el Lago de Valencia, uno de los lagos más grandes e importantes del país.
Este sitio también tiene algunos bancos donde la gente puede descansar y charlar, así como hacerse fotos en un cartel con la palabra Venezuela con la ciudad de fondo.
Cuando estuvimos allí la comisaría estaba cerrada y no había presencia policial, no sé si porque era domingo o casi las 6 de la tarde, de todas formas creo que si realmente funciona es un plus para el lugar, aunque durante nuestra estancia no ocurrió nada desagradable y había varias familias además de nosotros disfrutando. Todos volvíamos de la playa, cansados y bronceados.
