House of Christ in the Holy Sepulcher of Villa de Cura. [ESP-ENG]
Hola amigos viajeros, aprovechando esta Semana Santa hice una visita corta al municipio Zamora del estado Aragua en Venezuela, este es el municipio con más tradición religiosa de todo el estado, aquí se encuentra la casa de Santo Sepulcro de Villa de Cura, una imagen de Cristo en el Santo Sepulcro con más de 300 años de antigüedad y que cada año logra reunir a más de 20.000 feligreses que se acercan hasta su casa para mostrar sus respetos.
Hello fellow travelers, taking advantage of this Holy Week I made a short visit to the Zamora municipality of Aragua state in Venezuela, this is the municipality with more religious tradition throughout the state, here is the house of Santo Sepulcro de Villa de Cura, an image of Christ in the Holy Sepulchre with more than 300 years old and every year manages to gather more than 20,000 parishioners who come to his house to show their respects.
La historia de esta imagen no la conozco pero aunque su casa está abierta todos los días del año, es en la semana mayor cuando es más visitada, el día jueves recibe a los creyentes de la religión católica para lo que se considera el velorio de Cristo en el Santo Sepulcro, este fue el día que en compañía de mi familia asistí. Este día las personas entran a su casa y acompañan a la imagen durante el día y la noche. Aunque hay personas que pasan todo el día aquí, otros como nosotros entran y salen de la casa.
El día viernes en la mañana esta imagen de Cristo en el Santo Sepulcro que mide 1,65 metros y pesa 900 kilogramos sale en brazos de 80 hombres hasta la iglesia de la localidad que queda a 2 cuadras, que serían aproximadamente 200 metros de su casa. Los cargadores tienen una manera particular de desplazarse en el que su movimiento es como un pequeño baile en el que solo se mueven unos pocos centímetros por cada paso, haciendo que el tiempo para llegar a la iglesia sean de más de 5 horas, estos cargadores toman un turno así que existen aproximadamente 800 cargadores, en su mayoría hombres.Fuente
I do not know the history of this image, but although his house is open every day of the year, it is during the main week when it is most visited, on Thursday he receives the believers of the Catholic religion for what is considered the wake of Christ in the Holy Sepulcher, this was the day that I attended with my family. On this day people go home and accompany the image during the day and night. Although there are people who spend the whole day here, others like us go in and out of the house.
On Friday morning this image of Christ in the Holy Sepulcher, which measures 1.65 meters and weighs 900 kilograms, is carried by 80 men to the local church which is 2 blocks away, approximately 200 meters from their house. The porters have a particular way of moving in which their movement is like a little dance in which they only move a few centimeters for each step, making the time to reach the church more than 5 hours, these porters take a turn so there are approximately 800 porters, mostly male.Source
Cómo ya les hable un poco de lo que se trata está tradición ahora quiero hablarles de la casa del Santo Sepulcro. Lo primero que encontramos es un cartel con las normas para estar en este lugar, inmediatamente está la oficina de información donde las personas que se quieran unir a la congregación religiosa o hacer algún donativo a la misma pueden acudir a colaborar. Luego en un cuarto con un protector de metal encontramos la imagen de Cristo en el Santo Sepulcro, cada año esta imagen es decorada con orquídeas de color morado, además en su colchón se encuentran broches o dijes que representan favores concedidos a sus creyente.
En la casa también encontramos otras imágenes religiosas que acompañan al Cristo en el Santo Sepulcro en la procesión del Viernes Santo, como lo son San Juan Evangelista y la Virgen de los Dolores que es cubierta con un manto negro hasta el viernes que sale de procesión.
As I have already told you a little about what this tradition is about, now I want to tell you about the house of the Holy Sepulcher. The first thing we find is a sign with the rules to be in this place, immediately there is the information office where people who want to join the religious congregation or make a donation to it can go to collaborate. Then in a room with a metal protector we find the image of Christ in the Holy Sepulcher, every year this image is decorated with purple orchids, also in its mattress there are brooches or charms that represent favors granted to its believers.
In the house we also find other religious images that accompany Christ in the Holy Sepulcher in the Good Friday procession, such as St. John the Evangelist and the Virgin of Sorrows that is covered with a black mantle until the Friday procession.
Está es una estructura antigua al mejor estilo colonial, tiene grandes ventanales y su paredes son altas con techos de madera que me imagino ha sido reconstruido con el pasar de los años.
Sus pisos al igual que el resto de la casa tiene un estilo antiguo, en sus pasillos encontramos una decoración que hace juego con el resto del lugar. Podemos ver un pilón o mortero de madera grande en el que las personas de la colonia molían el maíz y otros cereales, al igual que muebles usados para filtrar agua por medio de una piedra donde la gota de agua libre de impurezas cae en una vasija de barro que la mantenía fría.
También me encontré con una pequeña maqueta de la estructura de la casa, me gustó esta obra porque tiene todo lo que contiene en su interior la casa incluyendo las plantas colgantes y muebles. Una obra muy bonita que no podía dejar de fotografías.
It is an old structure in the best colonial style, it has large windows and its walls are high with wooden ceilings that I imagine have been rebuilt over the years.
Its floors like the rest of the house have an antique style, in its corridors we find a decoration that matches the rest of the place. We can see a large wooden mortar or pestle in which the people of the colony ground corn and other cereals, as well as furniture used to filter water through a stone where the drop of water free of impurities falls into a clay pot that kept it cold.
I also found a small model of the structure of the house, I liked this work because it has everything that contains inside the house including hanging plants and furniture. A very nice work that I could not stop photographing.
En la parte trasera de la casa se puede ver el deterioro de los muros de piedra, las columnas se están cayendo por lo que tiene una franja amarilla de seguridad para evitar que la gente pase y esté en peligro si una de estas piedras se cae.
En una zona del patio de la casa podemos ver un área que ha sido modificada para construir un pequeño jardín donde hay un pozo para extraer agua, me imagino que este pozo ha estado ahí desde siempre pero fue restaurado dándole un aspecto más moderno.
At the back of the house you can see the deterioration of the stone walls, the columns are falling down so it has a yellow safety strip to prevent people from passing through and being in danger if one of these stones should fall.
In an area of the courtyard of the house we can see an area that has been modified to build a small garden where there is a well to extract water, I imagine that this well has been there forever but was restored making it look more modern.

Tengo entendido según cuenta la historia que ese cristo no iba para esa iglesia pero de alguna manera cuando iban a seguir trasladandolo no hubo manera de que lo pudieran cargar de lo pesado que se puso y por eso quedó ahí
Esa es una de las versiones pero hay otra diferente según lo que leí. El caso es que si es muy pesado.
