Graduands Day: A Hearty Farewell to the Class of 2024

In a classical display of beautiful decoration, musical orchestra and host of dignitaries from the nukes and crannies of Akpasak community and it's environs, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Green Pears International School, Akpasak Estate hosted a memorable end of the year party for the class of 2024, ranges from the kindergarten 2, Basic 5, Junior Secondary 3 and the Senior Secondary 3 respectively.

The event held on the school's campus brought together pupils, students, parents, teachers and the invited guests with a mixed of other activities and performances by the granduands and other pupils and students.

The event kicked off with a formal ceremony around 10: 30 am where the school administrator, in the person of Mrs Linda Edidiong Ekon delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the accomplishment of the graduating classes.

A heartfelt valedictory message was given by the head girl in basic Five class Miss Beulah Anele, sharing her reflection on the past five years at the school and the hope ahead in the future.

Following the ceremony, participants were moved to the decorated podium where they display different presentations such as debate, music orchestra, talk show dance, drama and a host of other interesting presentations. There was a live DJ where pupils, students and parents danced their hearts away, enjoyed the light refreshments offered by the school and captured memories in the photo stand set up for the occasion.

In addition to the fun, several graduands were honoured with special award, commending and recognising their academic achievements and performances par excellence. The highlight of such recognition was the presentation of gifts to the best graduating pupils, Miss Vitreous Edung, the honourable award not only based on academic learning but also in character. And that of the best graduating students was Miss Mitchell Umonta, including the call out for presentation gifts to the 1st -3rd position in the third term examination results from Junior Secondary one to Senior Secondary one.

Parents and teachers expressed their pride and joy as they celebrated their hard work and dedication of the students. On such estatic occasion, the school's proprietor Mr Ekpedeme Udoaka was called to offer an August dance steps which he elegantly did in a show of excitement and appreciation for the growth of his school flourishing such bouts of quality students and teachers. In his reamark, he said “this event is a wonderful way to recognise our graduand’s achievements and send them off with a memorable experience”

As the end of the day, the party drew to a close at 3 pm, the graduands left with smiles, hugs and celebrated with each other. Teachers and parents danced together with them. It was indeed a show of love and appreciation and well wishes marking the end of their basic and high school journey and the beginning of a new future.
