A Glass of Miracle Fruit Juice: Our Healthy Daily Dose for Physical Wellness with Magical Heath Benefits

Hello Everyone! Thank you for coming here today. Last time, we brought some miracle fruit from the countryside, also called calabash fruit. Thanks to my partner’s sister, we don’t need to buy this because it's difficult to find this in the local market here in my area. Today, I would like to share with you how we prepare the juice of this fruit.
MiracleFruit_Canva.png
This fruit looks like a watermelon in size but it has a plain green appearance. As far as I know, this is not common in my region (Visayas). Perhaps this grows more abundantly in Southern part (Mindanao) of the Philippines.

1743066628446.jpg
One piece of this fruit is really heavy; it weighs about 4-5 kilos. This fruit has hard shell, my partner uses a tool that looks like a screwdriver just to create that crack then it could be opened completely. Upon opening the fruit, it has thick white flesh but not sticky.
1743070852703.jpg
Then the flesh is scraped off from the shell with the use of spoon. They can just be easily scraped off. Then we put the flesh in a big pot.
1743066826652.jpg
1743071029164.jpg
We need to boil the flesh without adding any water in it. Continuously stirring it until the liquid slowly gets extracted. You may notice that there is soft foamy substance. After just about 10-15 minute of stirring, the foamy substance would appear. Also, some parts, change their color from whitish to blackish. This is will turn into completely black later on.
1743071293393.jpg
As it turns to blackish color, more liquid is released. We just need to continue stirring until the white foamy substance disappears.
1743071426300.jpg
We stop stirring about 30 minutes or when the white foam has disappeared. We let it cool completely before straining the pulp from the juice. When straining, just gently press the flesh and more juice will be released. Then, that’s the result – black colored juice. The black flesh can then be discarded. We just don’t have a garden where we live but I have thought about making it as a fertilizer. I still need to learn more about that.
1743071693428.jpg
What we also do is to transfer the juice in bottles and store it in the refrigerator. One fruit alone can produce about 1.5 Liters to 2 Liters of juice. It has long shelf life if kept in the fridge. We just drink a glass of it two hours after dinner.
1743071879199.jpg
Perhaps many people dislike or dread the blackish color of the juice and the strong smell when freshly boiled but this juice has some healing wonders or benefits. Perhaps the reason why our folks call it miracle fruit because of its healing benefits (and the color from white to black).

I started drinking this when I was diagnosed with myoma (I can feel the lump somewhere in my abdomen). I’ve noticed that it improves my energy and helps me release my waste daily (because it also serves as a detoxifier). My partner also drinks this for maintenance. With proper diet and exercise, drinking this juice can help lower blood pressure too. My BP is also high but it may also be affected by sleeping late everyday. We are just grateful that we have something to drink that is prepared naturally without any added chemicals that have helped us improve our physical health throughout these months. This is just speaking from our own experience.

When we run out of this fruit, my partner would go back to his hometown to take some from his sister’s garden. Thanks to my partner also for being so dedicated in bringing this fruit from the countryside to the city for our daily consumption.

Thank you for your time my dear Hiver friends. I hope this post is informative for you. If there's a chance to prepare this, please do try; just think of its healing benefits. Also, many thanks to this wonderful community @aseanhive. Until then!

HIVEing for Good!

I heard this is expensive also, but I don't have idea how much one piece of this fruit costs. There is a big local market, but we haven't seen this sold there. Yes, that's why they call this fruit by that name. Yes, I also feel grateful that we can ask for this fruit from my partner's sister. Thank you so much for your lovely message😊

There are a lot of those in our area, my mother-in-law also has some planted. They say the fruit has many benefits, but I haven't tasted it yet. They say the juice is sweet once the fruit is matured, but when it's still young, it's a bit sour. You should try planting it, friend. Just put it in a big pot, it will definitely grow.

Hello... yes, I've read some feedback about how they got cured by drinking this juice. I mainly drinking this for my myoma condition. We also observed that one, it's sweeter when it's matured. We really would like to plant this but we don't have space for planting in the city. My heartfelt gratitude for your time, suggestion, and for checking in. 😊💓

This is awesome! And the fruits are super huge. I have a neighbor who has miracle fruits planted in her backyard and so curious how it taste like. Also, I've been trying to incorporate more healthy juices into my diet, and this sounds perfect. Thanks for the recommendation @bettsmarie09 :)

Hello... Yes, they are really heavy. How nice that your neighbor has this tree. Perhaps your neighbor also drinks the juice of this fruit. When prepared and cooked properly, the juice is sweet, the mature ones are sweeter. Thank you very much for checking this post and for your message😊💝

I've seen a lot of testimonies about this miracle fruit as they call it. We all also have the same here outside our house but we haven't tried converting it to become a juice. Maybe I can try it

Wow, how convenient for you, it's just within your surrounding. For us, we still have to get some from my partner's sister. We travel from the city to the countryside just to get this. The fruit should not be eaten right away, it has to be cooked first, and only the juice should be consumed.
Thank you so much for your visit and for your message.

My aunt has this tree in her yard, and we also made juice from its fruit. I found the initial taste unpleasant, but it became palatable when served ice-cold with lots of ice.

Oh, glad to know your aunt has this fruit too. I agree with what you have experienced. When we get used to drinking it as days go by, it doesn't bother us anymore. Now, I can only taste the sweet part of it. We just chill it and drink without ice.
💟Thank you so much for checking this post and for your kind support.💟

Hello... Yes, it's getting more popular. I wonder why your neighbors told you that. If you choose the mature fruit and cooked properly, it should be fine... Eating the flesh right away should be avoided.

Honestly, I love the taste of the juice especially when it's cold. I even put ice cubes on it to make if more refreshing---the thing is the procedure to prepare is quite tiring😅 but I totally agree with the post, the health benefit of this fruit is truly amazing😊

Hello... Happy to hear this feedback. Good that you also like its taste; we just chill this one and drink without ice. Hehe... that's true, perhaps people don't mind getting its juice because of the tiring procedure. We really work hard for miracles to happen😀😊
