DUDE! Where have you been?

I have been online for around 15 years, doing various projects and marketing.

The one constant over the years is that people come and go.

There are various reasons for this, including but not limited to, financial hardship, loss of interest, moving on to other projects, and the list goes on.

Why do I mention this?

I have been absent from Hive for the past 2 months and I want to let y'all know what happened and that I am back to my daily Hive activities.

After this absence, I have a lot to catch up with. Much more than I thought there would be.

Back in July, an old friend and colleague of mine contacted me after several years of not being in touch.

He told me about his current company and about a research project he was heading up.

He was in need of some practicing medical providers to help with a new research project that was testing a new diabetes treatment.

The new treatment sounds like it will be a game changer for Type 2 Diabetes and that really intrigued me.

For those of you who do not know how a research project starts this graphic explains it well.

As the project progressed, it ended up taking much more time than I had anticipated. It was not work-related, so it all was done in my free time.

I spent, on average six to eight hours a day to complete the task.

Most of the work was data extrapolation and weeding out bad data points.
This was really tedious and not the type of work I usually do.

This phase of the project is completed, now the information has to be sent to the Food and Drug Administration for review and hopefully approval.

The project sounded good and I am excited to see this new treatment get approved.

This did come with a decent stipend and the project will look good on my resume.

I look forward to getting back in touch with everyone.

That's a lot of hours for something in your free time, but I bet it was also very satisfying working on that, contributing to something that may help people with diabetes 2. Good job!

And it's definitely a constant thing that people come and go. On hive it's known to many that sometimes one need to rebalance, or just a time out from all these online activities. I've been posting much less myself while navigating real life for a while.

When will the next phase start? These things take a lot of time don't they? I bet we will have to wait for years before you can tell anything about the outcome ..

Yeah, that is the worst part of the project, the waiting.
Our Food and Drug Administration is not known for its speed in getting things approved.
