[ENG] Bars built on ruins in Budapest [ESP] Bares construidos sobre ruinas en Budapest
Dear readers, from the communities that make up HIVE, I have the pleasure of writing to you and showing you a series of photographs taken recently by my dear friend Nancy Núñez de Morillo and her daughter Nakarid of the bars built on ruins in the capital of Hungary, in the district VII. The city of Budapest is a metropolis rich in traditions, architecture, and cultural movements, enough to write a great history, however, today I am going to dedicate myself to presenting the so-called "Ruin Bars", which were built a few years ago on the ruins of buildings, factories and abandoned land, more than a century ago, in the former Jewish quarter of the "spa capital of the world" after being targeted by bombing during the second world war. At present these bars have become one of the most sought-after places of tourism in the Hungarian capital.
Estimados lectores, de las comunidades que conforman HIVE, tengo el placer de escribirles y mostrarles una serie de fotografías tomadas recientemente por mi entrañable amiga Nancy Núñez de Morillo y su hija Anakarina de los bares construidos sobre ruinas en la capital de Hungría, en el distrito VII. La ciudad de Budapest es una metrópolis rica en tradiciones, arquitectura y movimientos culturales, suficientes para escribir toda una gran historia, sin embargo, hoy me voy a dedicar a presentarles los llamados “Ruin Bares”, los cuales fueron construidos hace pocos años sobre las ruinas de edificios, fábricas y terrenos abandonados, hace más de un siglo, en el antiguo barrio judío de la «capital mundial del spa» luego de haber sido blanco de los bombardeos durante la segunda guerra mundial. En la actualidad estos bares se han constituido en una de los más cotizados lugares de turismo de la capital húngara.

In fact, the first of them dates back to 2001, the “Szimpla Kert”, built on the site of an abandoned factory; its most striking internal attraction is that of an old car where visitors want to sit down for a drink. Currently, these bars are in fashion, they are suitable places to enjoy a good drink, dance, eat and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. However, it is at night when there is a greater influx of visitors and it is even the ideal time to listen to live music in the streets and to enjoy a place that has been reconditioned for the enjoyment of locals and strangers.
De hecho, el primero de ellos data de 2001, el “Szimpla Kert”, levantado sobre el terreno de una fábrica abandonada; su atracción interna más llamativa es la de un viejo automóvil donde los visitantes quieren sentarse para tomarse una copa. En la actualidad, estos bares están de moda, constituyen lugares adecuados para el disfrute de un buen trago, bailar, comer y gozar de un ambiente relajado. Sin embargo, es por las noches cuando hay mayor afluencia de visitantes e incluso es el momento ideal para escuchar música en vivo en las calles y para disfrutar de un sitio que ha sido reacondicionado para el disfrute de propios y extraños.

The construction of these buildings lacks a common project that identifies them as a single structure; on the contrary, they were rebuilt, practically respecting the buildings in ruins, without a uniform style, although most serve as bars, there are also places to take a fast food, small and few restaurants with a menu, such as the "For Sale” whose variety covers about 100 dishes to choose from.
La construcción de estas edificaciones carece de un proyecto común que los identifique como una sola estructura; al contrario, fueron reconstruidos, prácticamente respetando las edificaciones en ruinas, sin que medie un estilo uniforme, aunque la mayoría funge como bares, también se encuentran locales para tomar una comida rápida, pequeños y escasos restaurantes con menú, como por ejemplo el “For Sale” cuya variedad cubre unos 100 platos para escoger.

The names of the "bars in ruins" are very varied, here are some of them: the already named "Szimpla Kert" and "For Sale" as well as "Púder", "Fogas ház", "Mazel Tov", "Doboz" , “Instant”, among others. The design of all of them is worth mentioning, it can be said that none of them is luxurious, which does not mean that they are cheap, in them there are very colorful rustic chairs and tables, discarded remains of objects, rustic walls -without frieze- covered with papers full of messages and, of course, some places that function as galleries or showrooms for Hungarian artists, without ceasing to be places for gastronomic or alcoholic enjoyment, could not be missing.
Los nombres de los “bares en ruina” son muy variados, he aquí algunos de ellos: los ya nombrados “Szimpla Kert” y “For Sale” además de “Púder”, “Fogas ház”, “Mazel Tov”, “Doboz”, “Instant”, entre otros. El diseño de todos ellos es digno de mencionarse, se puede afirmar que ninguno es lujoso, lo que no significa que sean baratos, en ellos se encuentran sillas y mesas rústicas muy coloridas, restos desechos de objetos, paredes rústicas -sin friso- cubiertas con papeles llenos de mensajes y, por supuesto, no podían faltar, algunos locales que fungen como galerías o salas de exposición de artistas húngaros, sin dejar de ser lugares para el disfrute gastronómico o alcohólico.

Despite having been built on the ruins of the old Jewish quarter, only one bar has Hebrew origin, the “Mazel Tov”, although its decoration is totally modernist.
