Rue Valley: Alpha Test
Wow... I'm only a single month behind on my Humble Bundle thoughts! Amazing... I should get the October one out soon, so that I'm right up to date again!
Anyway, looking up September's Humble Bundle drop... well, it isn't a terrible one, actually there are a couple of really good games there, but for me... not that good, because I had already bought a couple of these games on previous sales... sigh, I never learn my lesson about staying out of those sweet sweet Steam sales!
Now, leading the Humble Bundle drop is the awesome Guardians of the Galaxy game. This is by far and away my favourite part of the Marvel Universe, and my wife also loves these movies! And the game... well, I actually bought AND finished it last year... and it is also AWESOME! So, if I didn't already have this, then I would definitely claim it... but, as it is, I already have it, and so this will go to the key store!
Next up... I do like my management survival games... Rimworld is awesome, as are many of the great entries in this genre... and Stranded looked like a nice graphical upgrade as well. Well, to save the effort of saying this later, I had already bought this on a sale... and well, it is pretty looking... but Rimworld still beats it for content and sheer enjoyment. So, I would be also sending this to the key store, but without the same level of recommendation as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Coral Island... sigh, another Animal Farm clone by the looks of it, perhaps crossed with a bit of the Sims?... nope, not for me... and I'm pretty sure that my kids would prefer to stick to Animal Crossing. Straight to the game store with this one...
A Spongebob game... well, it might be okay... but I'm also not 5 years old. Pass, and straight to teh game store.
So, straight onwards to Lost Eidolons... this seems to be more my taste, a turn based tactics game, mixed with a touch of company management... some people have already compared it to Fire Emblem? But with much better graphics? Well, I will be keeping this one... turn based tactics is my thing, and one genre that I'm hoping that my kids will get into!
Astrea is an interesting take on the deckbuilding rogue-like... that genre is pretty jam packed with decent and not so decent clones... but Astrea does a novel twist by introducing dice in the place of cads... would this be a good twist or just an annoying one? Hard to tell, but I might just give it a go anyway... the beauty of Humble drops is that little unexpected gem... and fingers crossed that this is one of those! Plus, it is playable on Steam Deck!
A supply chain game in InfraSpace... Hmmmm, I have a couple of these logistical games in my collection, and I haven't started any of them... and I think I'm more keen on games like Skylines instead... might give this one a miss.
You suck at Parking is definitely a weird looking game... a sort of top down kart game by the look of it... and definitely a couch/online party game. Not for me!
Rue Valley does look pretty interesting... it seems to take the GroundHog Day concept and put it in a comic book sort of art style. I'm definitely going to claim this one... but it looks like an alpha version only?

Now if there ones i would be going for it sure is spongebob cause am a fan of the animation
I never really got into SpongeBob when I was a kid... somehow the game tie-ins tend to be a bit disappointing!
Hmmm so I heard though it wasnt what I was expecting
Good games, too bad you already bought the juiciest of them all which is guardians of the galaxy. In fact if I remember correctly, a few months ago they also gave it away for free at Epic haha. As for Astrea, I'm not a big fan of cards but that one with its roguelike mechanics with dice entertained me when I played it, plus visually it's quite nice.
Tell me about it... Guardians was awesome! Great, I'll load up Astrea on the Deck and see if it is a good travel game.
