Bluey Coins!!!!

Bluey Coins!!!!.jpg

Well, these aren't quite the precious metals that we are all crazily interested in... but they are sort of adjacent to it. Collector coins... sadly, not in the precious metal variety!

Now, if you have kids... you might be familiar with Bluey... the Australian cartoon that has seemed to taken off everywhere in Australia... and perhaps a bit further afield as well.

Well, the Australian mint had released several versions of collector coins featuring the crazily cool and cute dog family... and they have been stupendously popular! And by that, I mean that people have been camping out at post offices and the mint to have their chance at buying them. Now, I don't usually go in for these sorts of fads... I don't have the patience to wait in line for ever... only to see the sets go to scalpers and those were are just so much more committed.

... but for some reason, my mother had managed to snag one of the regular sets of the Bluey Dollarbucks! Not the more impressive colourised versions and definitely not one of the precious metal versions either... but still quite impressive, seeing as these are hard enough to get hold of!

... and here are the dollar coins in their packing holders! Cute little things... and for the kids, definitely much more exciting than the silver that I pick up!

Ah.... these guys are pretty awesome! If you haven't watched the cartoons... you really should give them a go! I was a bit dubious at first... but now, I'm as hooked as the kids!

I've heard of this Bluey, but I am not familiar with it at all. I'm sure my wife knows from her kids at school..

Oh yes... if you have any contact with kids, it probably will end up coming up. Although, I do think that it is more of a recent import into the US!

Bluey is pretty cute XD My daughter still loves that show and she's well above the target demographic XD I remember half-watching one episode with her as she was watching it while I was doing my usual physio-style work on her and there's one episode where the border collie puppy says "I'm getting tired" or something to that effect and Bluey's dad replies along the lines of "I didn't think you got tired Mackenzie" and I burst out laughing because relatable.

Middle child was also terribly excited when the Bunnings around here ended up with "Hammerbarn" logos for a brief period XD

Kids approve of your new acquisition then? :)

Bluey is totally awesome! My wife and I love it... and we are DEFINITELY above the target demographic!

What really blew my mind was that the dad was the singer from CUSTARD! I loved that band!

Pffff... not my coins, sadly... they were gifted to my kids!

My kids are adults now. I never heard of these characters and I don't think they in any way related to my local character "Blue's Clues." Popularity is one of the intangibles that make up a coin's value as a collectable.

Ohhh I know plenty of bluey...
Tis one of the cartoons for kids from this generation that I actually approve.
Relatable, humourous and no gender drive shit.

Just a pure good moral teaching cartoon.
