1 gram of pure gold!

The only real question at the moment is if it is definitely real or not!!! This was purchased via a deceased estate auction, and whilst I have had some nice wins out of these things... it can be really hard to tell if what you are buying is genuine or not! Of course, the auction house won't vouch for anything... and there is always the chance that the seller had no idea if it was fake or not!

This generally isn't a big problem for the well known coins and bullion... but for some of these more obscure runs, well... it is a risk! But it sort of is fun taking that risk... and who knows! And if nothing else, this is a pretty cute one!

So, the China Construction Bank is an actual thing... and this 2019 year of the pig 1 gram gold leaf is really quite pretty and cute in the design! From the funny box, through the the included stickers that give you a chance to "dress" the pigs (from outside the protective sheath of course!) in various costumes. It just screams cute and funny!

I was showing my kids this win, and they loved the stickers... but they were blown away by how thin the gold leaf was!

The included documentation and certificate is in Chinese, so with google translate via Lens it was possible to decipher it... and there is nothing out of the ordinary for the real thing... or a fake thing!

The back side of the leaf is not colourised and is much plainer in design... but still quite intricate, and the cute pig is still there!

So, as I mentioned at the start... if it is a fake, it is still a fun and cute one! But for the moment, I don't have a good reason to doubt it... but that said, I haven't really tried to look for an excuse to doubt it either!

... now, hopefully some of those silver bids will pull through!

Looks pretty cool to me. I need to try to get into more estate auctions. The problem is over here people flock to them like vultures. It's nuts!

They are pretty competitive... but we set our limits, and if we don't get stuff it doesn't bother us. So, more like a pleasant surprise when we win something! There is this mandolin that I've got my eye on...

That sounds like it could be fun. We have an old mandolin that was my grandfathers or something like that. I feel like it was broken at one point, but it might have gotten fixed.

That is pretty cool! Probably can't be removed from it's protective case to not lose any gold! Really nice find!

That's a sticky situation personally I would not go for that extremely hard to verify if it's legit, but you a lifetime winner and so it's likely another win for you 🤣 !DOOK !BBH

Cool, It wouldn't look too far out of place among anyone's gold banknote collections.

When it looks that good it doesn't really matter if it is real or not
