Let's take a walk through Madrid, a beautiful city that can conquer you
Hello my dear friends of Pinmapple! We will be walking for a moment some streets of Madrid, from the first day I was in the city, to other times when I visited strategic and iconic points of the city.
Although it is an extremely large city and from my point of view does not offer pure nature in its vicinity, I must admit that it has its charm, and although it is hard to believe, if there is something about Madrid that I fell in love with and to which I find no comparison, it is its sky.
It is impossible to summarize Madrid in a single publication, especially if we want to focus on certain places that are not only beautiful, but huge, such as El Retiro Park, which I have already told you about on another occasion, or El Jardín del Moro, but this time I gathered several places that I visited and that made me fall in love with the city.
I went through it pretty fast, because I could not get to know everything, and I managed mainly by subway and on foot. If there is something that this city has, it is that at least I could see a very good connectivity between its different points.

Puerta del Sol and a first view of the city
I remember spending quite a bit of time there, as I had to get my SIM card for the phone, which took some time, and make a photocopy of some documentation I was carrying. Although I went out that morning to "do paperwork", I couldn't help but take pictures, especially of the famous and cuddly Madrilenian teddy bear that is waiting for the sun's rays every hour of the day.
Puerta del Sol is an urban nucleus within the city where numerous activities and functions are concentrated, from commercial, financial, transportation. The place is usually full of people, and they seem to be very busy people, but this is something very beautiful about Madrid, and is that although the work schedules are very well breathed, it is always possible to see people taking a moment to relax. In the Puerta del Sol, locals and tourists sit right there in some flowerbeds to have something to eat or drink.
That morning was so long, that the afternoon found me at the Puerta del Sol finishing my paperwork, so as soon as I finished it, I decided to go out and walk around a bit.
I observed those beautiful streets of the city, passed by the Plaza de la Armería, and the night began to find me when I came across the Fountain of Apollo, also known as the Fountain of the Four Seasons.
I finished the day eating some papas bravas in a restaurant called "La Catedral", where they shared with me a liqueur I had never tasted before, cream liqueur with orujo.
Something more about Madrid
Several people had recommended me to visit some points of this tremendous city, that the truth is that being there, I could not miss. So I took almost a whole day to get lost in these places.
Caixaforum Vertical Garden
I had been told about this, but I didn't size it up until I saw it. As you can see in the photos, it is literally a vertical garden, built on a wall, where there are a variety of species that provide interesting shapes and colors to this creation.
The place had quite a few visitors, as expected, and although I tried to dwell on the details of this incredible landscape or urban design, the vegetation formed a certain compact image, that I have to look at the photos carefully to remember any particular plant.
It is literally a towering wall that appears in front of you, and in that city so full of asphalt, it captures the attention like few other things.
I really like this vertical garden, not only because of how beautiful it looks, but also because it is an excellent alternative to protect cities from air pollution and climate change itself.
This is... an ice cream parlor, yes ladies and gentlemen! It has become very famous for selling its ice cream in a cone of a kind of pudding shaped like a fish. The ice creams are quite simple to be honest. I mean, their flavor is not at all particular and they have no comparison with the creamy Italian style ice creams, but they have managed to position themselves very well in the market and make competition, due to this detail of giving their ice cream in a fish, and that is why this place is called "La Pecera".
Julia's statue
This is a beautiful work that is located in the area of the University of Madrid. You can see the sculpture of a girl with a book in her hand, and refers to a woman named Julia, who would have disguised herself as a man in order to attend the University, when only this educational level was reserved for the male gender.

Museo Nacional Del Prado
I did not enter the museum, because I am not a big fan of museums, with some exceptions, but I did take a walk around it.
I was fascinated with the greenery that surrounds the Prado Museum. It is perfect and neatly kept. Although there were quite a few tourists and it is a tourist space par excellence, I could enjoy a moment there and a beautiful walk from which I took some pictures.
In front of it there is a kind of Boulevard, where I took some pictures again, especially of a very particular fountain featuring a woman taming what seems to be a small dragon.
Museo Nacional Del Prado
After another exhausting day, I indulged myself with a delicious prosciutto sandwich, something that has a reputation (justified) for being exquisite on Spanish soil and also walked around Plaza Mayor.
I hope you enjoyed this walk with me friends!!!!

I've been thinking about visiting Madrid and other parts of Spain for a while.
Your ice cream in that cone looks amazing, I'm guessing extremely tasty too.
You made me crave a two-color ice cream cone.
