Let's get to know the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències in an afternoon in Valencia, Spain
Hello my dear friends! It is a pleasure to be here today! I come to share with you a memory of my days in Valencia, where I visited with my cousin David, his wife Desa and their little girl, Violeta, the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (The City of Arts and Sciences).
It had become night and I had to make a very detailed selection of the images because at that time I took the shots with an iPhone 8 Plus, which although it had an excellent camera, it has already been surpassed.
However, I managed to select these images that I liked very much, both the lens and the quality of the images, because although it was getting dark, the images were nice (the phone had a wonderful definition in the daytime, but I had to make some effort for the shots in the dark, hehe).
The Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències is the great pride of Valencia, as it has become a national icon and a "must" place to visit if you go to this city. As indicated in its web page, it is a creation of the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava and was born in 1996.
It has different spaces dedicated to both culture and science and exhibitions and concerts are held there.
When we went with my relatives it was already late and everything was closed or closing, but we were able to enjoy a pleasant walk that was actually very beautiful, because as there were almost no people, at least for me, it allowed me to contemplate the place much better.
As you can see in the photos, its architecture gives a very dynamic impression, it is as if the structure were in movement, and to this is added the reflection in the lake and the exquisite play of lights, which with all its white form, gives the feeling that one is a little in another space, because it has a marked contrast with the whole city.
Although the entrance to its different parts has a cost, simply visiting the place and walking around the property, is something very nice to do, so I recommend it. In addition, it is about 40 minutes walk from downtown, so it is not even necessary to take a bus or something similar.
Have you ever heard of this place?

Although it is a bit weird they put those boats in the shallow pool 🥴😁 Saw it the last time we were there.
Heheh, yes, but I guess it’s just ornamental, hehe
I saw people rowing in those 😳
Btw, Valencia is a city where I like to go, our friend is a marine biologist in Oceanográfico so we know the place very well and love the whole complex. Thanks for reminding me of this place with your cool photos, I could go there right now hahaha.
Oh! Lol, I saw the pictures, haha, it’s too small for any kind of navigation. Great that your friend works in the Oceanográfico! So you can learn much more about this place!
I like how an architect designed the building. This is very creative idea.
Yes! I agree! Thanks for stopping by!

Last time you went to the Royal Observatory in London, and now this place in Valencia, and before that Marseille a while ago. I'm thinking I've been to all those places, are you stalking me or am I stalking you 😉
Now, I must get my act together and write about these places, and others before you beat me to it!!! 😃
🤣 I'm not stalking you @livinguktaiwan (and I don't think you're stalking me, lol). Particularly those places you mention belong to a one month trip I took back in 2019. It's just that I never told the story, and I want to have it here on Hive, and also I'm trying to save those memories here because I'm deleting them from my cloud.
I'm mixing recent experiences with some others from the past.
Oh, Marseille doesn’t belong to that trip! That one is for a trip that I did for a year in 2021-2022
