Eivissa's fruit and vegetable fair: the healthiest place on the island

A few weeks ago I was walking through an area of Ibiza that was completely unknown to me. I was in town, going from Figueretas to Sant Jordi in search of work. I had never walked so far in my life to get to an interview.

Although I could go by bus, the delay was the same, and I always prefer to walk rather than stand around waiting. For this reason, I chose to walk to the office where I would be interviewed (no, I didn't get the job, hehe).

La feria de frutas y verduras de Eivissa: el lugar más saludable de la isla

Hace unas semanas caminaba por una zona de Ibiza que desconocía por completo. Me encontraba en la ciudad, e iba de Figueretas a Sant Jordi en busca de trabajo. Nunca en mi vida había caminado tanto para llegar a una entrevista.

Aunque podía ir en bus, la demora era la misma, y siempre prefiero caminar antes de quedarme parada esperando. Por este motivo, elegí caminar hasta la oficina donde sería entrevistada (no, no quedé en ese trabajo, jeje).

I didn't have any bags where I could keep anything I bought, if I bought anything at all, but I still wanted to see what they were selling.

Well... it was fruit and vegetable heaven.

I asked if they could give me a plastic bag, as in many places they don't give you one, or they offer you a cardboard one, which ends up breaking, and they said yes.

De vuelta e ilusionada (porque me habían dicho que probablemente quedaría en el puesto), me encontré con esta increíble feria que me invitaba a conocerla.

No llevaba bolsas donde pudiese guardar nada de lo que comprara, si es que compraba algo, pero igual quería ver qué vendían.

Bueno… era el paraíso de las frutas y verduras.

Averigüé si ellos podrían darme una bolsa de plástico, ya que en muchos lugares no te dan, o te ofrecen de carton, que se terminan rompiendo, y me dijeron que sí.

I bought cherries, dates, avocado, potato, mango, spinach, tomatoes and more fruit and vegetables. I was fascinated and I was waiting for them to tell me when I paid that the total was more than 25 euros but no, everything I bought was 12 euros!

Among the points in favour of buying here I would like to highlight:

• There is a great variety
• You can choose which fruit or vegetable you prefer
• Although they are not organic, they are grown by the owner of that land and he sells them only in that market.
• They also sell dried fruits, dried fruits and condiments.
• You can shop with a trolley just like in a supermarket, but only for fruit and vegetables.
• The place is neat and tidy
• Everything is in good condition

Compré cerezas, dátiles, aguacate, papa, mango, espinaca, tomates y más frutas y verduras. Quedé fascinada y estaba esperando que al pagar me dijeran que el total superaba los 25 euros pero no, todo lo que compré me salió 12!!!

Entre los puntos a favor de comprar aquí destaco:

• Hay gran variedad
• Puedes elegir qué fruta o verdura prefieres
• Aunque no son orgánizas, son cultivadas por el dueño de esa tierra y las vende solo en ese mercado
• También venden frutos secos, frutas disecadas y condimentos
• Puedes comprar con un carro tal como si fuese un supermercado, pero solo de frutas y verduras
• El lugar está impío y ordenado
• Todo está en buen estado

I was asking some questions to the lady at the checkout, like the origin of their raw material, and she told me that they are from Ibiza and the owner himself is in charge of the production.

When I got home I tried a few things and the taste was delicious.

Cuando llegué a casa probé algunas cositas y el sabor era delicioso.
