Come to this black and white trekking on the Château Hill, Nice, France

Hello my dear friends of Black and White, with this post I participate in the #monomad challenge of the day. It's a pleasure to be here once again.

This time we are going to walk for a moment in Nice, France, to enjoy a very beautiful waterfall that is located in the wonderful Castle Hill, a park that is next to the coast and that offers a wonderful trekking in this beautiful city of the French Riviera.

To access the panoramic views that brings us closer to the adventure, there are two options: either you can take an elevator or you can go down a staircase that is permanently changing direction, in a continuous zigzag.

I think it is excellent that there is an elevator, because it allows people who do not feel well or who have some difficulty with stairs, can still access this tourist attraction. Or also someone who simply does not feel like climbing the long way. In my case, I opted for the stairs because I really like this type of trekking and because I was very curious about the way up that long staircase.

It was the best option, because as it usually happens in every uphill crossing, whether in the city or in the middle of nature, the landscape that one contemplates at each level is wonderful and very changeable as it ascends. In this case, the hill was already a beauty, and every time I turned to look at the city of Nice or the sea, I was amazed.

However, something that caught my attention in a very particular way, was the presence of the "Invisible Man ". I don't think I can describe my face when I saw that, and if I remember correctly, I burst out laughing (I'm laughing right now). Well, it's a pair of shoes with a sign indicating that you can take a picture with the invisible man in exchange for 0,50€. What do you think? I think whoever came up with this idea is simply a genius, hahaha.

When ascending and arriving almost at the end of the trail, one encounters the expected waterfall by which the Castle Hill has gained prominence, in addition to the beautiful panoramic scenery it offers. There, I was able to observe a white pigeon carrying its feathers in a very original way. I do not know if this is a particular species (if anyone knows, I would appreciate the comment) or if the pigeon had gone through some moment that led it to look like this. What is certain is that it was very beautiful and was in absolute peace with the waterfall in the background. The little animal was so relaxed that I took the opportunity to take some pictures of it. I was even able to activate the "portrait" mode to give more blur to the background.

After a while of contemplating this beautiful being, I focused on the water, which was falling incessantly, offering a relaxing and comforting sound. It was August, so it was hot, and that water cooled not only the temperature of the city itself, but one, that after climbing those stairs was really exhausted.

Then of course, the panoramic landscape took all my attention. From different angles and perspectives, the city could be observed calmly. The calm Mediterranean Sea stretched out in front of Nice, a coastal city very particular for its sporting life and its delicacy in this part of France.

The white rocks that replaced the sand on the beach, gave the image a handmade and original touch, while those who were doing water sports conquered with their movements.

From the highest point, parts of the hill itself could also be seen, giving the landscape, especially the photographs, a unique touch.

Nice. i like France. i've been many times over the years. Last time was about 5 yrs ago when i volunteered at Hridaya yoga for nearly 5 months. It's an excellent school btw (in France and Mexico) which i highly recommend.

OMG! 🙏 are you a Kundalini teacher/practitioner? I’m in my firsts steps and I’m falling in love with Kundalini. I’m looking for a Yoga center to study and volunteer at the same time. Thanks a lot for this information, I’m googling right now Hridaya yoga! Thank you!

Hey. Not a Kundalini teacher, no.
i did 300 hrs of a 500 hr Hatha yoga TTC with Agama yoga in Thailand 2008, then volunteered (not as a teacher) at the school they opened in Mexico in 2009. The school in Mexico later changed to Hridaya yoga where i did several silent retreats.

i opened a holistic healing retreat centre nearby which i ran for a few years, and learned Kundalini yoga from some online courses by Jai Dev Singh. i have several of his 6 week courses and kundalini is my usual practice with occasional hatha.

Yoga though is much more than a physical practice as i expect you realise, not that most "western" schools really embody that. Hridaya do offer volunteer placements in both Mexico and France, i think for a minimum of 6 months.

What a wonderful story with Yoga! I started Vinyasa from the “western” world, and during the situation in 2020 I discovered what is actually Yoga. I have a lot to learn, not only theory, but the lifestyle that Yoga suggests. I’m already on the spiritual path, at my own pace, but looking forward to expand myself and let go my ego (as my identity).

Thank you! I’m going to check Hridaya!!
