Hello dear friends of Hive and Pinmapple, this time I will take you to Barcelona again.

It was amazing how that brief two-day trip in which I relaxed and walked around the city without the intention of knowing something specific, allowed me to open the way to experience Barcelona from another place, where I discovered corners that are in the path of everything, but that are often unnoticed.

In this opportunity, in front of La Rambla, I discovered the Palacio de la Virreina, destined to the area of Culture of this city. The door looked quite simple for what was inside. In fact, I almost passed by it, but when I approached it and saw that the space was widely extended, and above all, when I noticed that it reached the other side of the block, I decided that I would visit it.

Ven a conocer conmigo a “Los Gigantes” de Barcelona en el Palacio de Cultura

Hola queridos amigos de Hive y de Pinmapple, en esta oportunidad me los llevaré a Barcelona nuevamente.

Fue impresionante cómo ese breve viaje de dos días en el que me relajé y caminé por la ciudad sin la intención de conocer algo puntual, me permitió abrir paso a experimentar Barcelona desde otro lugar, en donde descubrí rincones que están al paso de todo, pero que muchas veces son desapercibidos.

En esta oportunidad, frente a La Rambla, descubrí el Palacio de la Virreina, destinado al área de Cultura de esta ciudad. La puerta se veía bastante sencilla para lo que había dentro. De hecho, casi que paso de largo, pero cuando me acerqué y vi que el espacio se extendía ampliamente, y sobre todo, cuando noté que llegaba hasta el otro lado de la cuadra, decidí que lo visitaría.

In the center of the palace you can see a rectangle formed by the walls that rise towards the sky, and it is precisely the sky above you when you look up.

The image is very beautiful, and that turquoise sky with some clouds seemed like a dream.

Resulta que el palacio es precioso, está repleto de arcos que van elevándose hacia los costados y hacia adelante, y ni bien caminas unos metros, observas unos ventanales impecables que reflejan un cielo precioso.

Tuve la suerte de que aquel día estaba soleado, por lo que las imágenes eran bellísimas.

En el centro del palacio se puede ver un rectángulo formado por las paredes que se elevan hacia el cielo, y es justamente el firmamento lo que hay encima de uno cuando eleva la vista.

La imagen es muy bonita, y aquel cielo turquesa con algunas nubes, parecía un sueño.

I walked a little more on that stone floor that transported me to another time in history. My intention was to walk through the whole building. In the middle of my attempt, I found some huge images of a king, a queen and a mythological animal. I asked and was told that these were "The Giants".

Apparently these images date back several centuries and are related to the Catholic religion, where Los Gigantes are mentioned. It turns out that in the city of Barcelona they first found the figure of the giant and then his wife.

Over the years the figures were being modified, until in the early twentieth century it was decided to create these as the definitive ones.

The image is very striking, because one is walking and literally sees on the side a kind of giant family, hehe.

Caminé un poco más por aquel suelo de piedra que transportaba a otra época de la historia. Mi intención era atravesar todo el edificio. En el medio de mi intento, encontré unas imágenes inmensas de un rey, una reina y un animal mitológico. Pregunté y me dijeron que esos eran “Los Gigantes”.

Aparentemente estas imágenes datan de hace varios siglos atrás y se relacionan con la religión católica, en donde se menciona a Los Gigantes. Resulta que en la ciudad de Barcelona primero encontraron la figura del gigante y luego la de su esposa.

Con el pasar de los años las figuras fueron siendo modificadas, hasta que a principios del siglo XX se decidió crear estas como las definitivas.

La imagen es muy llamativa, pues uno va caminando y literalmente ve a un costado a una especie de familia gigante, jeje.

On the other side of the building there is not much, but the inside is beautiful and I recommend visiting it, as it is a free thing that is located in a very touristy place.

Al otro lado del edificio no hay demasiado, pero el interior sí que es precioso y recomiendo visitarlo, pues es algo gratuito que está ubicado en un lugar sumamente turístico.
