A Storm for Christmas is a mini series that at first glance might seem like a typical romantic comedy without much content, but if you dare to watch it, you will realize that it is much deeper than one could imagine.

Hello my friends from Movies & TV Shows! Today I travel again to the north of Europe with the very particular productions that this region offers us, that at least to me call my attention.

The mini series "A Storm for Christmas" deals with several stories in one, and that is that several passengers are stranded at the Oslo airport just on Christmas night, where each person had a different plan.

La mini serie “Tormenta de Navidad” aborda varias historias en una sola, y es que varios pasajeros se quedan varados en el aeropuerto de Oslo justamente la noche de Navidad, donde cada persona tenía un plan diferente.

Plot

A clear storm blocks the possibility of takeoff or landing of any aircraft, so passengers are left with an uncertain departure from this city.

This makes you observe how each person takes this situation in a different way.

There is the relaxed person who takes advantage of this time to analyze what to give to his father; there is the person who sees this airport as a beautiful paradise where to spend a good time; there is the lonely person who enjoys this moment because it allows him to share with other people; there is the person who is dying and decides to give the best of himself that Christmas night; we also see a woman out of her mind trying to do everything to reach her destination and completely losing her axis; we also see infidelity hand in hand with unhappiness, accentuated by not being able to arrive on time.

Trama

Una tormenta claro, bloquea la posibilidad de despegue o aterrizaje de cualquier avión, por lo que los pasajeros pasan a tener una salida incierta de esta ciudad.

Esto hace que se observe cómo cada persona toma esta situación de una manera diferente.

Está la persona relajada que aprovecha ese tiempo para analizar qué regalarle a su padre; está quien ve este aeropuerto como un paraíso hermoso donde pasar un buen momento; está quien solitario, disfruta de este momento porque le permite compartir con otras personas; está quien está muriendo y decide dar lo mejor de sí esa noche de Navidad; también vemos a una mujer fuera de sí intentando hacer todo para llegar a su destino y perdiendo completamente su eje; también se ve la infidelidad de la mano de la infelicidad, acentuada por no poder llegar a horario.

Each one of these stories runs in a very clear way, I liked that they don't mix with each other and at the same time they do. In other productions of this style I end up not understanding very well what is going on, but in this case it is very well expressed.

In addition to this, the mini serie is a kind of tragicomedy, so it has very funny moments, which are mixed with many other emotional ones.

Cada una de estas historias transcurre de manera muy clara, me gustó que no se mezclan entre sí y al mismo tiempo sí lo hacen. En otras producciones de este estilo termino sin entender muy bien qué está pasando, pero en este caso queda muy bien expresado.

A esto se suma que la mini serie es una especie de tragicomedia, por lo que tiene momentos muy graciosos, que se mezclan con muchos otros emotivos.

Values addressed

I have not wanted to explain each story in detail because it would ruin the story for those who want to see it, but each case is excellent to analyze and also to take it as a mirror, because in some way they show us situations that we all live. We all get "out of our minds" at some point when faced with an unforeseen event, we all resign ourselves, and so on.

The production shows how the same situation can be approached by each person in a different way, and that way is related to the context in which that person finds himself.

At the same time it shows us how good management of emotions can lead us to go through moments of crisis in a healthy and mature way, and it also shows us how there are things that cannot really be changed or controlled, but one can choose how to react and respond to what is happening.

Valores que se abordan

No he querido explicar concretamente cada historia porque le arruinaría por completo la historia a quien la quiera ver, pero cada caso es excelente para analizar y también para tomarlo de espejo, pues de alguna manera nos muestran situaciones que todos vivimos. Todos nos “sacamos de las casillas” en algún momento ante un imprevisto, todos también nos resignamos, y demás.

La producción muestra cómo una misma situación puede ser abordada por cada persona de manera diferente, y esa manera se relaciona con el contexto en el que esa persona se encuentra.

Al mismo tiempo nos muestra cómo hacer una buena gestión de las emociones puede conducirnos a atravesar momentos de crisis de manera saludable y madura, y también nos muestra cómo hay cosas que realmente no pueden cambiarse ni controlarse, pero uno sí puede elegir cómo reaccionar y responder a esto que está ocurriendo.

Opinion

I thought it was a beautiful mini series. When I chose it I did it because I wanted to see something optimistic and I didn't know what to see, and the truth is that I was completely surprised, even at one point I cried and laughed more than one laugh watching this mini series.

The production comes somehow to "relax" many topics that are taboo, and it deals with an extremely special date accompanied by very sensitive issues such as death, terminal illness, loneliness, discontent at work, obsession with work, resignation, in short, most of the stories come to face us with parts of life that somehow we all know (from our own experience or close to us), and shows us how these are really taboo and how it is in oneself the power to choose what will be the answer to this that we have to go through.

Opinión

Me pareció una mini serie preciosa. Cuando la elegí lo hice porque quería ver algo optimista y no sabía qué ver, y la verdad es que me sorprendió por completo, hasta en un momento lloré y largué más de una carcajada viendo esta mini serie.

La producción viene de alguna manera a “descontracturar” muchos temas que son tabúes, y se aborda una fecha extremadamente especial acompañada de temas muy delicados como la muerte, enfermedades terminales, soledad, descontento en el trabajo, obsesión con el trabajo, resignación, en fin, la mayoría de las historias vienen a ponernos de frente partes de la vida que de alguna manera todos conocemos (por experiencia propia o cercana a nosotros), y nos muestra cómo estos son realmente tabúes y cómo está en uno mismo el poder de elegir cuál será la respuesta a esto que tenemos que transitar.

Another way to analyze the production is to see how each of these people needed a pause, they needed to think, to really expose themselves to what they were living, but the inertia of life and their minds focused on their routine did not allow them to do so, and suddenly a storm makes a pause of several hours right on Christmas. Some continue on until life unfailingly puts the brakes on that very night, others embrace the situation immediately realizing that they will simply have to wait, and seek to enjoy and take advantage of that moment.

I highly recommend it, it is very enjoyable, entertaining and teaches us great lessons.

Otra manera de analizar la producción es ver cómo cada una de estas personas necesitaban una pausa, necesitaban pensar, exponerse realmente a lo que estaban viviendo, pero la inercia de la vida y sus mentes enfocadas en su rutina no se los permitían, y de pronto una tormenta hace una pausa de varias horas justo en Navidad. Algunos siguen de largo hasta que la vida indefectiblemente les pone el freno esa misma noche, otros abrazan esa situación comprendiendo de inmediato que sencillamente tendrán que esperar, y buscan disfrutar y aprovechar ese momento.

La súper recomiendo, es muy disfrutarle, amena y nos deja grandes enseñanzas.
