Greetings creative friends around the world, I wish you are enjoying good health and God's blessing abound in your homes, a new week begins and I continue to advance in my sewing projects, this time I share the development of a sports overalls with front lines and side pockets that I sewed for my son; the overalls are cool, comfortable and ideal clothes for warm climates, are one of my favorite outfits and my son, is made of athletic fabric combining the colors royal blue and green.

Saludos amigos creativos en todo el mundo, deseo se encuentren disfrutando de buena salud y la bendición de Dios abunde en sus hogares, una nueva semana inicia y sigo avanzando en mis proyectos de costura, en esta oportunidad comparto la elaboración de un mono deportivo con líneas frontales y bolsillos laterales que cosí para mi hijo; los monos son ropas frescas, cómodas e ideales para los climas cálidos, constituyen uno de mis atuendos favoritos y de mi hijo, está elaborado en tela atlética combinando los colores azul rey y verde.

The first step was to mark and cut the pieces; front back, pockets, decorative strips, green rectangle for the top; then with straight stitch I sewed the strips on the front.
El primer paso fue marcar y cortar las piezas; trasero delantero , bolsillos, tiras decorativas, rectángulo verde para la parte superior; luego con puntada recta cosí la tiras en la parte frontal.
Once the strips were glued, I faced the front and back pieces right sides together and sewed the strips with a straight stitch.
I also glued the pockets facing the first pocket flap with the front of the coverall, sewed on the side edge leaving a seam allowance of approximately one (1) centimeter, turned the flap inwards, made peaks in the corners to give better shape and repeated at the machine foot (approximately 0.7 centimeters), then put the other pocket flap facing the right sides, fixed with straight stitch the previous ends and sewed all around the pocket.
Pegadas las tiras, enfrenté por el derecho las piezas del delantero y trasero y cosí los tiros con puntada recta.
Además pegué los bolsillos enfrentando la primera tapa con el delantero del mono, cosí en el borde lateral dejando un margen de costura de aproximadamente un (1) centímetro, volteé la tapa hacia adentro, hice piquetes en la esquinas para dar mejor forma y repisé a pie de máquina (aproximadamente 0,7 centímetros), luego puse la otra tapa del bolsillo enfrentando los derechos, fijé con puntada recta las terminaciones anteriores y cosí todo el contorno del bolsillo.
Once the pockets were sewn, I faced the back and front with pins, closed the legs sewing from the center down (to prevent the fabric from stretching and leaving one leg longer than the other), I also closed the sides with a straight stitch and finished with a zig zag stitch to secure the seam.
Cosidos los bolsillos, enfrenté trasero y delantero fijando con alfileres, cerré las piernas cosiendo desde el centro hacia abajo (para evitar que la tela estire y quede una pierna más larga que la otra), cerré también los laterales con puntada recta y rematé con puntada de zig zag para asegurar la costura.
The last step was to glue the elastic, I measured the waist circumference, subtracted the fourth part (the waist circumference is 88 centimeters and subtracting the fourth part leaves 66 centimeters of elastic).
With a zig zag stitch and on the reverse side I glued the elastic, then I folded it until it covered the fabric and I stitched it straight.
To make the hem I sewed a hem of about one centimeter with straight stitch and this is how the jumpsuit is finished.
El último paso fue pegar el elástico, medí el contorno de cintura, le resté la cuarta parte (el contorno de cintura es 88 centímetros y al restar la cuarta parte quedan de 66 centímetros de elástico).
Con puntada de zig zag y por el revés pegué el elástico, luego doblé hasta cubrir con la tela y pasé puntada recta.
Para hacer el ruedo cosí un dobladillo de aproximadamente un centímetro con puntada recta y así está terminado el mono deportivo.
I loved the combination of blue and green, initially I was going to combine blue and black, but I remembered that I have used those colors on several occasions and took advantage of an unused piece of green fabric, the colors are vibrant and stand out, the jumpsuit looks great and my son is happy with the result.
