The long route
Going to work on Tuesday is a tedious experience but every now and again, my colleague takes the burden off me by picking me up from home and dropping me at the office. On some days, he doesn't go to Leicester and on those days, I have to use the train.
The train journey isn't really a big deal. In fact, it is actually just around 30 minutes commute time. However, it feels like a long time in my life.
The start of the day isn't as frustrating as the end of the day. I have to make sure that I take calls at just the exact time and end it on time to catch my train.
Then on some days, after doing everything in my power to catch the train, I find out that the train is going to be 20 minutes late. So, after work, I spend about an hour just standing and not doing anything productive.
When I get home, I'm far too exhausted to do anything else with my life and it's not because of work, nope. It's because of the journey to and from work using the train.
Well, I guess I have to be grateful that I only have to do this once a week. I mean, in my previous job, I had to go out everyday but it wasn't quite as demanding as this role.
Then again, with humans being the adaptable mammals that we are, I'd probably be used to it by now, if I had to physically go to the office every day.
