Just hoping and waiting

So I had two interviews this week and both of them were for the same type of management position for the company I work in. They're both full time positions but in one of them, I'll largely be tasked with managing a team of part time workers while in the other, it'll be mostly full time staff.

I haven't received feedback from either of them and I don't want to count my eggs before they hatch. However, in my best case scenario, I get both roles and have to pick one of them, which do I pick?

Let's give each role a codename. One will be Job A and the other will be Job B. Both jobs are for the same role but in different departments.

Job A is a different department from where I currently work. It offers the thrill of a new role and I'll be working with a team in different locations, so there'll be more travel time. I'll also be starting off with my team and will get to know them immediately they join the company.

Job A is the more glamorous and favourable option in terms of the role. It is the type of role I'd like and unlike Job B, it will also not require working at ungodly hours.

Now, Job B is also a full time role where I'd be managing a group of part-time staff. There'd be a couple of people switching to full time while in the team and that'll be handled in time but the main point is that my entire team, at the moment, is part-time.

Job B is a management position in the current department I work in. So, it'll require less effort to adjust to the requirements of the role. I've already carried out a number of tasks and responsibilities relating to the job as a floor worker, handling training and coaching sessions.

The problem with Job B is that it will require me doing late shifts. Now take that with a pinch of salt, as it means I'll be with the team from 11am to 7pm, so it's not that bad.

In terms of familiarity with the responsibility, I've also built up a good reputation in my department and my leaders already know me. I've also had a conversation about my visa sponsorship with my potential manager that I'll report in the new position, so that again works in favour of staying where I am.

In any case, I'm excited by the prospect of both jobs and I'd be very happy to get either of them. Getting into management will be a challenge and I suspect it will be a completely different type of work stress I'll face, if I get the job. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
