Inside warmth

Last year was my first time experiencing snow and I cannot even pretend it wasn't underwhelming. What u thought would be an ethereal moment only turned out to make me sick and I'm not looking forward to it this year.

When life finally takes shape, I intend to use up all my holiday hours in December. I'll book a holiday and travel to Nigeria to experience warm weather for at least three weeks.

The temperature has been dropping lately and we're slowly approaching zero degrees. Zero degrees is the freezing point of water and for me, all it does is make the air very hard to breathe.

I also tend to get the flu, hay fever and pretty much any accompanying illness that comes with low temperature. On top of all this, my disdain for going outside is exacerbated by the sickening low temperature.

To prepare myself for the low temperature, I've been taking regular and healthy doses of loratidine. I must add that it's an over the counter medication that you can get at most supermarkets.

In a few weeks, winter is going to kick in and I'm already feeling the symptoms on my body.

I've been enjoying the snow since my move from CA to PA.
I've always assumed the transition would be quite hard for someone from Nigeria.
I guess you've confirmed my bias here.

I absolutely hate the cold man. It's horrible. At Nigeria, we could experience 15⁰ Celsius on ridiculously cold nights but that's as bad as it gets while day time is warm weather all year, even when it rains.

Even "summer" where everyone's whining about the "heat wave" is like 20⁰ Celsius here and that's basically hot beverage weather in Nigeria.

In California most people don't start complaining until it gets over 90⁰F/32⁰C.
Also depends on humidity a bit.
I hear Nigeria is very dry.
You ever experience like 80%-90% humidity?
I don't seem to mind it as much as most but it can get pretty brutal.

In the southern part of the country, it's mostly sea side, so the humidity is brutal. Even 23-27⁰C is brutal. You'd be getting cooked alive.

Most parts of Nigeria up north get heavy winds from the Sahara desert, so it's very low humidity and just dry. I've got clammy skin, so I prefer dry and low humidity areas.

It’s about the mindset. If you approach a situation like the weather with a bad mindset then you get the result you are intending to. Being sick isn’t fun but cold temperatures are very good for our bodies as it burns a lot more calories than constant heat.

Yeah, you told me this last year. I've forgotten how you described it and true, I actually lost some weight last year during winter. I've been doing lots of exercise or at least, more than usual, so fingers crossed
