Genesis League Sports looks set to give Hive Blockchain a major boost
Genesis League Sports is a gaming platform that is set to be introduced to the Hive blockchain. The gaming platform that will feature a host of games is currently being developed by the same team that brought Splinterlands and it looks set to completely transform the gaming scene on Hive and beyond.
Genesis League Soccer has already been announced as the first of many other play-to-earn games that will be developed on this platform. There are still finer details to be sorted out, with the roadmap indicating that we'll see the Football(Soccer)-based play to earn game fully released in the second quarter of next year.
Some months ago, the entire crypto space was rocked by the good news about the impending release of the Genesis League Soccer. In my opinion, one of the best bits of news about this news is the partnership with the MLSPA that has been widely documented.
Living on Hive
The finer details of the project are still unknown but one thing we know for sure is that the entire project will rely on the underlying technology of Hive blockchain. Hive offers fast and free transactions, as well as a constantly growing community that enables the development of games on the blockchain.
If the track record of the developers mean anything then it is safe to say that Hive is about to experience a major bump in the volume of transactions on the chain.
According to information from the Whitepaper, we'll be getting marketplaces, a new set of NFTS and a GLX token that will be the major governance token of the entire sports gaming ecosystem.
On the surface, this looks like a really exciting project and next year looks set to be huge for Hive blockchain. We'll be seeing at least one new game released on the chain and the success of this project could outrightly transform the outlook of Hive blockchain.
There's no doubting Splinterlands riveting success that has transformed the once simple game into a juggernaut in the industry. If the evolution of SPlinterlands into a thriving GameFi ecosystem is replicated in the GLS platform then Hive blockchain is about to experience influx of users than ever before.
After being home to one of the most successful play to earn games in the land, Hive looks set to once again dominate the blockchain gaming scene with the potential inflow of games.
With the multi-billion dollar sports gaming industry behind the launch of the first game, I reckon that Hive's outlook will be completely transformed after this move.
Airdrops and benefits
The specifics about the GLS platform's tokenomics are still unknown but it is safe to speculate that there will be benefits for Splinterlands investors.
I think I read somewhere that GLS tokens will be airdropped to investors that keep SPS staked. I don't think the date for this airdrop has been published or if it has, I'm not aware of it.
A potential airdrop based on staked SPS once again shows how much emphasis is being placed on SPS token and how much future development is going to surround the governance token of the SPlinterlands ecosystem. This could naturally lead to a major pump in the value of SPS tokens.
According to the roadmap, there should be a white label pack sale website available this month and with only 5 days to go, I reckon it should be completed by now.
Assuming the roadmap is completely adhered to then we'll probably start to see fireworks sometime next year. It is not too soon but soon enough to be excited about.

From a time point of view, it makes sense. I have some accounts boting on Splex, which also ads SPS to the stash.

great points in your article. Upon the announcement, I bought more SPS right away. It is clever of the team to reel in existing players with the incentive to earn the new token by accumulating more SPS and staking it. That helps stabilize the SPS price and gives early adopters like ourselves a slight advantage over new players, who enter the space around the release date.
I'm very excited, because I not only love the Splinterlands/Hive ecosystem, I was an avid football player and a football manager player in the Commodore 64/Atari/PC days and hope, to relive my glory days :o).
Genesis League Sports is one of the biggest creation by Splinterlands in my opinion. This leap into the world of sports will do Hive a lot of good.

The best part is that the model used by Genesis League Sports is very much a copy of @splinterlands which we know to be an excellent game with excellent Tokenomics.
