Everybody's lip
Nigeria conducted her Presidential election amidst so much chaos in the country. It has actually been one week since the election was conducted and just as expected, it was nothing short of a farce.
People came out to vote for their choice but the corrupt system had other ideas. However, unlike the past, people are wiser now and there's been a backlash.
Well, there's only so much complaining and agitating can achieve. An actionable plan and proper decisions are required to actually do anything worthy of note in the country's electoral process.
Right now, what we do know is that the case is in court and the politicians will battle it out with their expensive lawyers. I have very little faith in our judicial system, so I know the truth will eventually be suppressed and we'll end up with some bullshit ruling.
The one thing we can confirm after this election is that there's no system that can't be corrupted in Nigeria. It's not like we ever trusted the process but at least now we know for sure that the incompetence and rot run so deep that a body that's supposed to be neutral picked a side.
It sort of makes you wonder what kind of aberration of justice we'll end up getting in court. In any case, we'll just continue hoping for the best as we follow the case.
Naira is back
The Naira scarcity still persists but the information we got yesterday was that the old notes that were supposed to be cancelled can now be used as legal tender until the 31st of December. So, this means that the entire exercise was completely futile.
How can a government just tinker and play with the lives of its citizens like this? It is so frustrating to live under these circumstances, particularly because it is being done by individuals who are void of any level of integrity and will never accept their responsibilities because they're always blaming others.
I didn't have any intentions to rant in this publication but it is really hard not to rant when Nigeria is concerned. We keep going further into the depths of despair and discovering new lows that I didn't even know existed,
I don't know how this will impact the exchange rate but in the past couple of days, Naira has been gaining on the dollar. I don't know how long this will last and with all the craziness surrounding the election, I have a feeling Naira is eventually going to take a beating. Time will tell.

In a country like Nigeria where the government officials choose the law to obey and the one not to obey, are we sure the president will obey this Supreme Court pronouncement as he ignored the previous ones?

When I heard people say Nigeria is a total joke, I didn't believe it till the elections. These people trying to manipulate the country to suit their own whims. A complete mockery of everything democracy stands for. We might as well go back to military rule. The lives that have been lost with this currency issue and now everything has just come to naught. You're right, it's impossible to talk about Nigeria and not rant. God help us!

I find it interesting and counterintuitive that so many people who see the financial future in crypto still believe in the system. I am writing here only to ask the opinion and experience of the Nigerian people about CBDC.
I have read and heard in many places that Nigeria already has it, and most recently that the state is blackmailing people into using it by working hand in hand with the banks to limit ATM FIAT withdrawals.
What is true about this, how do they want to force the use of this on average people?
And what are your experiences with CBDC in general?
CBDCs aren't used and aren't necessary in Nigeria because we have an advanced banking system that facilitates transfers in a matter of seconds.
Truth is that the whole CBDC thing was a ploy to steal public funds. No one is using it.
There was naira scarcity but it was a politically motivated move, rather than a ploy to boost use of CBDC.
Thanks, what about that they limit your daily ATM witdrawal??? I heard it from few different source, they've already limited it, some said 20$, some said 50$ / day. Is it true or not?
Just asking, because the psychopaths think it seriously in Europe. Even the small Eastern-European countries are going full digital. Within few years, they want to get rid of the government's useful humanoids. They are building out a fully digitalizied gov system. You do everything online, even like renew your driving licence or passport, and within 3 years, they want to close all the gov offices for these purposes. From that only 1 step the forced CBDC.And it won't be optional. You renew your passport, ID, driving licence etc online or you won't have it, so you cant drive, travel etc. Same with "money". (Good that they say so often, this is the democracy!!! :) :) :) )
Couple of years ago they planned to do it with vaxx pass (connect everything to that), what was a huge failure. So they changed the way, but not the target. They don't really care how they call the "document" what links everything to you, they just want the control over that.
good to know Nigerians could avoid it. Unfortunately, europioids are 100% obeying, fooled idiots...
Truth is that it's not a case of Nigerians avoiding it. We don't have enough facilities to implement it.
Thr international community often depicts actions by our government like they're intentional schemes to achieve control but in reality, it is just gross ineptitude. There's not enough text in the world to summarise how dumb our government is
