Marketfriday - On a Search for Two Frozen Things

(Edited)

( EN / DE ) And once again I found myself looking for a birthday gift, this time for my great niece. The object of desire should be in a supermarket and exactly there I take you now.

The first impression made me as every year anew annoyed. Christmas gingerbread and cookies in August! I find that so very inappropriate, so I always try to boycott these purchases at least until the end of September.
Although I was looking for something that had to do with "frozen", but as long as it is not freezing outside in nature, but 34 degrees, I just do not like to buy these sweets.

At least, just around the corner they try to sell the last barbecue utensils, but the market seems to be saturated for this year ;-)
The same with sunhats! I think I'll check back in 2 weeks, maybe they'll be on sale for 1 euro!

Then I had to restrain myself, because with plants and especially those nice ones like these cacti and succulents, I find it very hard to resist. But I succeeded!

Finally we approached the first frozen object of desire, spinach! Amazing, the price difference between a brand name company and a noname company, so the choice fell on the unknown company.

Butter... here I was just amazed, because I'm actually used to have the choice between say at least 5 butter varieties. But look, only one on the shelf. Strange. And expensive.
Sonderbar. Und teuer.

And then between lots of school supplies, toys and other junk finally found the second coveted "frozen" product! Lucky, it was almost sold out!

After I had already resisted the nice plants so bravely... You already know from previous postings, notebooks and pens ... hmmmmmmmmmm. Since it is so hard for me to go past ;-) Haha but I still write a lot without a computer, so I thought that fits.
Notebooks and pens you can never have too many ;-)

Finally! Tataaaa! There it is! A small adventure set with 2 walkie talkies, binoculars, compass and flashlight.
At least I was happy that it's a gift that will hopefully get my great niece more away from her smartphone and into exploring (wishful thinking of a great aunt?).

Schließlich! Tataaaa!

All in all. The game, notebooks, pens. Potatoes, bananas, 2 spinach, 1 cottage cheese, 1 almond milk, 1 fresh goat cheese, 1 small jar of Nutella, some socks and Kornspitz (...these are bread rolls). Almost 70 euros. And that at the discounter supermarket. Thats life.
Alles in Allem. Thats Life.

Conclusion: The gift was a direct hit, she was very happy about it, which of course made me very happy.
The spinach (the cheap you remember) has tasted excellent, actually even more like spinach than the usual high-priced brand!
And that I have a great joy with my notebooks and pens I must probably not mention?

This was my #marketfriday journey post for @dswigle and I hope you enjoyed to take a little walk around the market with me :-) Yours, B.

Oh no :-( For sure I think those sun hats would have looked great with you? I liked the one with the stripes, but I so seldom wear a hat.

Aber was soll man machen?

Christmas and sun hats seem like a strange match but you never really know with the weather these days. I have a feeling I'll be sitting by the pool in December and it'll feel like August.

Be sure to send over some Christmas cookies. They're the best part of the holidays.

Seriously I would have sworn it was an Aldi. Learned something new again today. That Aldi is Austria is Hofer and The only way Hofer is different than an Aldi you may be used to is that, just like all Aldi stores, it sells regional products. That means, if you haven’t shopped at an Austrian Hofer before, the brands themselves will look ‘different’ .

Lived in Bavaria 20 years. There are mostly the exact same things in products and brands no matter Aldi or Hofer called. Also exact same store build up, thats why you knew what it is

That was an excellent choice for your great niece! I bought walkie-talkies for my little cousins and they loved them too!! It is a really thoughtful gift and they can really have a lot of fun with other people, getting them off those phones and back into age-appropriate kind of fun.

I couldn't believe they have the holiday cookies out already, every year, it seems earlier and earlier. Of course, a few of them are hard to resist!

Succulents are so big in the last few years! I don't have any, but, everyone has a few of them. The pens are a little harder to resist. Ditto the notebooks! You really did well! I would call that shopping a success! And you even discovered a new spinach brand! I dislike shopping anymore. If you want something, you might as well go for broke! Thank you for supporting #MarketFriday!

Thank you for participating in #MarketFriday! I appreciate the time and effort that goes into putting a post together for the challenge. It is with great pleasure that I read through and realize how much we have all tried to include things in our world that may be unique to the area. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for them. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing. I hope the week has found you healthy and happy, as we all look to prosper in our way of life.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost? Was it expensive or cheap? Did it go up or down? Please do not post 30 pictures with no words about them.Do not use pictures more than once in a post!
  3. Post the pictures. Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post, it is too difficult to guess on some
    4. #MarketFriday must be your first tag.
Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post (#hive-196308) This is not required but appreciated.
    5. PLEASE Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it!!
