Dressed by Kindness.
Hello everyone, Greerings!
I have worn many dresses but it has been a long time since I was dressed in a peculiar clothing called kindness. I'm not only speaking figuratively but also literally when I say that kindness can be a ”clothing”. Let me tell you all what happened.
The plot
So it happened that schools were on a week long break, which we refer to as mid-term break. I decided to visit a long time friend of mine who relocated from my area to the mainland ( a busy part of Lagos State) almost five years ago now. I learnt she was sick and had recently been discharged from the hospital, so I had a good reason to pay her a visit.
On Tuesday was the day I decided to pay her a visit. I left my house at about 9a.m, walked to the bus stop and boarded a bus heading to mile 2. The journey was free at first but then half way through the journey, there was traffic which lasted for almost an hour. I was almost regretting leaving the house as I hated being stuck in traffic but reminding myself of how important the visit was, I persevered. The traffic cleared and the journey went on smoothly till I got to my destination and alighted the bus.
After alighting the first bus, I had to take another one that would take me directly to the estate where she resides. Finally I was able to locate her place at Ago palace and the reunion was epic. She could not believe her eyes when she saw me standing in front of her door. You can guess what happened next when two girls meet after a long time. We screamed and hugged and screamed some more before she welcomed me inside.
My friend and I
I was treated to some good food and drinks while we sat down to catch up on each other's affairs. I was really glad to see her in good health and shape. The sickness took its toll on her but she is recovering very well. My friend is a fashion designer with her own clothing line and I'm super proud of her achievements but that day, the surprise I got was epic.
While I was busy eating and gisting, unbeknownst to me, she had already given the order to her staff to get a dress made for me. The best part was that the dress only took four and a half hours which was the total time I spent with her. From the material to the finishing, she took care of everything. While I was about saying my farewell, she told me to wait and try on a dress. Initially I thought that she wanted to use my body as a model specimen but after I tried on the dress and some amendments were made to it, one of her staff brought the packaged dress for me and I could not believe my eyes.
I was so flabbergasted and short of words. All I could chatter was ”thank you”, ”thank you” in repeated successions. One other thing that amazed me was the fact that her dresses are top-notch and pay worthy. The least amount for her dress is twenty-five thousand naira (#25,000) and she just prepared one for me without collecting a dime from me.
I left her place smiling deeply because I felt her kindness deep within my soul and my bones and I was touched and she might not even know this but she answered a secret desire of mine and that made me so so happy. Now I can flaunt my new dress which came as a result of kindness.
Thank you all for reading.

Awwwn, that was so thoughtful of her, see you thinking you were just going to visit your friend who was recovering, not knowing you would be leaving with an addition to your wardrobe.
God bless her. The dress looks so lovely.
Yes ooo, I didn't imagine that it would go that way.
God bless her real good.
Thank you for your kind words
You're welcome.
