Cupid's arrow..... Neoxian prompt #14.

Donald is the big boss and CEO of Tingle international, a major leading cosmetics company in the country. He had been away on a trip and had just returned to the country.

While in his office, his secretary phoned him to let him know that the personal assistant of Standard organization is on the line. Donald hung up on his secretary and directly picked the buzzing phone beside the computer..

"Hello, Donald Hawthorne speaking" his baritone voice boomed through the receiver.

" Good day Mr Hawthorne, I'm Amanda Brookes, Mr Stones assistant" a melodius voice diffused into Donald's ears.

"To what do I owe this call, Miss Brooke?"

"My boss asked me to confirm the schedule of our latest order. He hopes it will be ready as planned sir?"

"Tell Mr Stone that I always keep to my word. If there's nothing else, I would like to get back to my work".

"Certainly sir, I'll be sure to pass on your message, have a nice day" and the call got disconnected but for some reason, Donald still held on to it as if doing so, he would keep hearing the sound of her voice. Never had he been so mesmerized by the mere voice of a woman before.

All through the day, he kept thinking about "her". He was drawn to her and he knew he wouldn't rest until she was his.

Three weeks to the product launch and he found the perfect opportunity to keep in touch. He made sure to call her daily, just because. Everytime he heard her say "hello" on the phone, something akin to a cardiac arrest came upon him, only it was a good kind, one he wanted to feel more often.

Amanda was not left out of the love string. Cupid's arrow did not miss and she also woke up with expectations of Donald's call. She admired strong and capable men just like Donald and she was pleasantly thrilled each time they talked on the phone.

Their chats began from the product launch to family and then to personal related topics. She was falling for him just as he was enamored with her.

To celebrate the product launch, Mr Stones held a celebratory dinner. Amanda took it upon herself to invite Donald. Smiling happily, Donald agreed to the invite.

"It will be so good to finally see you in person Amanda dear" he said to her on the phone.

"Well that depends on what your expectations are Don but I'll be sure to blow your mind" Amanda cooed into the phone, earning a chuckle from Donald.

"It's a date then,see you babe".

The day finally came for the dinner party. Donald arrived at the venue in is latest Maserati, decked in a black tuxedo suit. He was looking dashing and so handsome that even the valet's jaw dropped in awe.

Donald Walked in with the aura of a king, drawing all eyes to himself. He scanned the crowd hoping to find a certain damsel but she was nowhere in sight. While he was still perusing the crowd, Mr Stone Came to him for a handshake, accompanied by some board members. They engaged in small talk but Donald was seemingly distracted. He scanned the crowd impatiently, hoping to see his damsel but just as he was giving up hope..his eyes fell on an elegant figure, dressed in a red dinner gown with matching accessories. His breath caught in his pharynx as he devoured her with his eyes.

Amanda felt nervous, she could feel someone's intense gaze. Looking up from her purse, her gaze fell on the king like dashing figure of Donald. Subconsciously, she salivated as she place a hand on her chest to stop her racing heart.

"All the posters and magazine covers don't do him justice" she thought. Wanting to take charge of the moment, she catwalked slowly towards him with a cocky smile on her lips. Donald watched every action of hers with his eyes locked on her like a lion watching his prey. "She's more beautiful in person" he also thought.

Wanting to protect what was his, he excused himself from the group surrounding him and walked with giant strides towards "his woman". He met her at the middle of the ball room and he couldn't resist taking her in his arms.

"Beautiful, you are so beautiful" he whispered in to her ear.

Amanda blushed and looked into his eyes and she could see that he meant it. Mesmerized by her beautiful blue eyes,Donald decided to take things a top-notch. He leaned in and kissed her on the lips.

"Hey, what are you doing? There are so many eyes here!" Amanda half exclaimed.

"I don't care, I want the world to know that I have found my heartbeat after so long" he replied like a triumphant king and leaned in to capture her lips, this time there was no holding back.
