Attitude is everything.

It is often said that readers are leaders and also that the pen is mightier than the sword. These words of wisdom have long been imprinted on the tablets of my heart and this has helped me to love reading a lot.

Right from when I was little, reading culture was inculcated into me by my dad who would always read a book to me whenever he was at home. He made it an obligation of his to buy me books, especially fun ones that would inspire reading. At age six, I was already a good reader and could spell some big words off hand. At age seven, I could already search out words from the dictionary.

Over the years, I cannot give a number to the amount of books I have read so far and I read widely. I read virtually everything on print and so far one book stands out for me. This book helped change my perspective and orientation to life as I read and applied its principles.

The title of the book is Attitude is everything by Keith Harrell. When I came across this book several years back, I was intrigued by the title and was curious to know what the book had to offer. ”What is it about a person's attitude that can uplift or abase that person?””.......

This was one of the many questions I had at the time. The book belonged to a Christian brother of mine and it was easy to borrow the book for a while. As I read this book, my understanding opened to the fact that life happens and there will always be things beyond our control but those things should not be focused on rather we should focus on the things we can control which is our response to the external factors.

I learnt that I can choose to be happy despite the circumstances I might find myself in and that having a positive attitude will attract positive things my way. I also learnt to look on the bright side if things or should I say look out for the silver linings even when a dark cloud is brewing.

Keith Harrell also inspired me to be dogged in whatever good thing that I want. He used his own real life experiences to inspire the power of a positive attitude in my heart. I remember one of his personal stories of how he wanted a job at a big company but everyone around him thought he would not be able to get the job. He showed how having a right attitude even in the smallest of places can become a ladder to take one to the highest levels. Indeed attitude determines altitude is a worthy saying.

This single book is so inspiring and it impacted my thoughts and life positively. After I was done reading the book and returned it, I had to get the e-book so that I would always have it in my library for keepsake. Whenever I feel like my mind is dishevelled, I go back to read this book and set my mind on course.

I am very happy sharing this book with you all. The book is a wonderful tool to have at hand.

Thank you all for reading. This is my entry to the #novemberinleo initiative for day 3.

Images are screenshots of the book on my phone.

What a coincidence, it was as if I read this book before writing about "looking at the brighter side of life" the other day and here you are sharing your lessons from it. Didn't even know about this book. I'll try downloading it.

Attitude has a lot to do with one's disposition to life. When you’re positive, you're fired up to face the hurdles of life and achieve success but it It's the other way round, then one will be stuck along the way.

Wow. This is so beautiful and inspiring. Truth is, our attitude determines our altitude. Our outward appearance is as a result of what comes from the inside. In fact, the Bible mentioned it too. What goes in our body isn't a bad thing but what comes out from it, mostly bad ones. So, this is why when we want to build a good attitude, we must clear every wrong thoughts but occupy with the good ones.

This is so insightful 👏
