Disappointed at first
In the eastern part of Nigeria, marriage is considered an achievement, any lady who is up to 30 or more and not yet married will be ashamed of herself, and she won't be able to speak up for her family and her village because "She has no head yet" according to culture and tradition, the civilization is gradually getting rid of such traditions.
Ada was in her late 30s, and she was not yet married; the family members were very worried about the whole situation, and Ada herself was also concerned about the whole situation, but there was nothing she could do; she couldn't marry herself 😔.

She was just hopeful that soon she would get a life partner; she was busy with her work and was taking care of her family very well; she had two brothers and a younger sister.
One faithful day she was going to work and a car drove by and stopped just right beside her, looking inside the car she saw a handsome young man and Ada said in her mind "Oh he is very handsome, I just wish this is the end of my search"
And it was the end of her search, but "the rose came with some thorns* but it wasn't too bad, it was handled perfectly.
"I want to know you better, I am Chikwado from Nsulu", the guy said.
" I Am Ada for Mgboko and I live at No 59 New Estate Road"
Ada replied.
"Can I get to know you more? Maybe get your contact, and besides, where are you heading to?" Chikwado asked Ada.
Ada replied "I Am going to work, am a nurse, don't worry I will find my way, thank you for the offer"
Chikwado then said "Please can I get your contact so that we can know each other better "
Ada and Chikwado exchanged contact and went to their different destinations. Ada said she couldn't be herself that day; she was thinking about this young man she had met.
Later in the evening, Chikwado called Ada, and they spoke for a very long time; gradually, they fell in love with each other, Chikwado was planning to come to see Ada, and Ada couldn't even wait for Chikwado to come.
Chikwado arrived and called Ada to meet with him somewhere; without delay, Ada rushed but was a bit disappointed.
Chikwado has some physical disabilities and Ada was surprised to see the man she fell in love with in a different way.
"I had an accident, and that is why I am like this, but I promise to care for you if you accept to be my wife," Chikwado said.
Ada was speechless at this point, she didn't know what to say.
"But why haven't you told me all this while" Ada asked Chikwado.
"Because I know it might severe our relationship" Chikwado states
"But if you can't deal with it, we can go our separate ways " Chikwado continued.
Chikwado is a very handsome man who's hardworking and also a little wealthy; he has all the characteristics Ada has been searching for but just the physical disability.
Ada traveled to discuss the matter with her family, especially her mom.
She couldn't open up easily, so she put on a moody look, and that drew her mother's attention on her.
"Adannaya (the daughter of her father), what is the issue with you? Why are you moody?" Ada's mum asked.
"I found someone to be my husband" Ada replied.
"Okay. So how does that make you feel sad instead of happy? We have been waiting for this news for so long." Ada's mum replied.
Ada said, "Mummy, there are some issues; I thought I made the best choice of a handsome man, but he has a little disability, which was a result of a road traffic accident."
"Hmm that's serious, but what do you think?" Ada's mum asked Ada.
"I don't just know what to do" Ada responded.
"I think you should invite him over; there is more to just physical disability," Ada's mum said.
This was a very difficult situation and the hardest decision Ada ever made. Ada accepted to marry Chikwado despite his physical disability, and the wedding plans started, tho, friends were not comfortable with the choice Ada had made.
It was Saturday morning, the wedding day. Ada was very happy that she was finally getting married, and Chikwado was the happiest man on earth. Knowing that he had gotten someone who accepted him the way he was was a happy moment.
The wedding ceremony was to Start by noon, everywhere was decorated and the musicians were busy playing the best tracks of both Ada and Chikwado, just a few minutes later it started raining heavily, it rained for almost 3 hours and destroyed all the beautiful and expensive decorations.
Ada was bittered and she was seriously crying, her father went to her and said "Nothing good comes easily" in other words "This rain is like a thorn in the roses".
People were eating and dancing despite the heavy rain, and the wedding continued as Ada and Chikwado were dancing and celebrating despite the heavy rain.
In just a few hours, a bus filled with young men drove into the venue and ordered everything to stop.
Ada asked Chikwado, "Please, who are these, and why are they obstructing the occasion ?"
"How will I know?" "Am surprised the way you are" Chikwado replied.
Looking out, it was Chikwado's cousin's brother who came from London to surprise him on his wedding day, and he came with lots of gifts and presents for Ada; he gifted Ada a new Toyota Venza car, Ada who was disappointed at first became the happiest person.

A good story. However, it is a nonfiction right? Who exactly is Ada? And the story is also kind of incomplete. But I love it
