Exploring an alien world

Karakorum, Concordia Camp, under K2.

I have chosen some pics about exploring an alien world, the world of high altitude, under the giant K2.
I like the shadow in the faraway valley.
Space is huge, beyond imagination, great as the biggest dreams can be.

Here stone colors of mountain walls. You can imagine the compression forces that creates Karakorum range, together with Himalaya, the wildest region of the world, with four summits over 8000 meters.

Going up to K2 base camp, just over Concordia camp, landscape changed, showing how vast is the glacier that from Concordia arrives under K2.
We walked 20 km at an altitude of 5000 meters.

Here coming back to Concordia, after the most tiring day of all the trekking:

Monsoon arrived, with heavy rain. Time to stay in tent waiting.
