A few days ago, while exploring a small forest near the village, I found a mushroom that was quite interesting. Among the piles of rotting leaves and brittle logs stood a mushroom with a slender, yellowish-orange stem that seemed to glow in the dim sunlight. This mushroom is Gymnopus foetidus, one of the species I rarely encounter in this area.

What is interesting about this mushroom is the beautiful shape of its hood, with the lower surface full of fine folds that are neatly arranged like the lines on an umbrella. When I looked closer, I was fascinated by the detail of the folds which looked so symmetrical and added an exotic impression to this mushroom.

One of the things that makes Gymnopus foetidus different is its distinctive aroma, which, although not very strong, can be smelled when we put our nose close to this fungus. This aroma seems to add character to its small but strong appearance. This fungus is often found in damp and dark places, growing from rotting organic material such as logs or fallen leaves.
