"Behind Dried Chilies"
Today I found two dried chilies that seem to have passed through time in a unique way. Their wrinkled skin, deep red color, and rough texture gave the impression of a strong character—as if they held stories of heat, taste, and struggle in the fields before finally drying out like this.
I decided to make them the main subject of my macro photography exploration. Using a macro lens, I photographed several angles of this chili, from the fragile-looking stem tip to the elegantly curved tip of the fruit. In each photo, I tried to capture small details such as the streaks on the surface of the skin and the contrast of the red color of the chilies against the dark background and the green of the leaves as a complement.
to give more dimension to the texture of the chili, emphasize the shadows and highlights so the details really pop. I wanted these chilies to look alive, even though they were dry. Its simplicity actually emphasizes a natural aesthetic that is rarely noticed.
