Panorama in manual mode
St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral is rightfully the central building of Kronstadt. And you can take photos in it. This is officially allowed.
The cathedral inside is amazing in size and volume, but if you don't have a fish eye on the camera, then... you cannot embrace the immensity. Especially in height.
There was a fixed 35 mm lens on my camera. Not the widest, but not the narrowest of all. And still I could only snatch out small sections of the interior. Then I decided to take some panoramic pictures. More precisely, to take several consecutive photos and then combine them into a panorama. I didn't have a tripod, I had to take it off with my hands.
It was from these four photos that I made a vertical panorama in the Lightroom. I had to correct perspective distortions and trim the edges. But in general, the program coped with the task.

Also, very surprising that it is allowed to take photos in this cathedral, I suppose it is Orthodox Christian?

I agree, this is almost a universal lens, it can do everything :)
For some time this cathedral was used as a museum or even a memorial. Then they began to hold a service there, but the functions of the maritime museum also remained.
It is an Orthodox Christian church with expanded secular functions... if you can say so.
