And at the end?

It was unacceptable as it was far from the truth,
Slain tongues of men blabber with dripping tongues,
It can't be true and can not be achievable, you may say,
Until you find yourself partaking in the nemesis of the world or maybe not.

Many said it was bad, but that's their beliefs, not mine,
Said the thoughtless human soul to the world of men,
As they watch their offsprings, pluck not just the leaves of illegal activities,
But also, go for the root as they find it more appealing.

Like vampires, they watch in the shadow during the day,
As nightfall becomes their rush hour,
They choose from the selected menu set out during the day,
And feast on them with delight at night,
With no worry of what tomorrow may bring.

They ruin whoever falls prey to their schemes with a gracious smile on their lips,
They celebrate the misery of others as their fortune multiply,
Only for it to puff up in a smoke anytime,
They forget what lies await for them six feet below or probably don't care,
Or maybe it is their belief that forgiveness will follow,

Sometimes, I try to stress my brain a little bit,.
Just to understand the pleasure they derive from this,
However, my brain is sane enough to stop me from pushing further,
Because no matter how I try, I can't understand their pleasure,
As their beliefs and mine do not tally.

The pleasure of one night ruins a million years of fun,
But, they do not care what it takes just to have those fleeting moments,
They embrace darkness and command it with the tip of their fingers,
As lots of laughter fills the air at their triumph,

Like fools, they embark on a journey of undeniably foolishness,
Only to come back home with an empty palm,
As they get stuck in the shadows again and attack at nightfall,
They continue on the deserted road of make-believe success,
And at the end? Yeah, what happens at the end?

Still yours truly,
Balikis.

Thanks for reading.

Peace be unto those who crave it and more to those who chase it away.
