Train journey after a very long time

Today I had to travel in train after a very long time. Mostly my travels are all with my car or with friends in their car. Today I had to do a family trip and have travelled by train. I have had several beautiful experiences with train travel in the past. When I was studying in college I travelled to college in train everyday. I used to meet a lot of people during the journey and have fun with them. After my college days I didn't get more opportunity to travel in Train.

Talking to random strangers is an interesting experience. Initially when we start the conversation we have to find topics to talk with each other. Then we can keep going with the flow. Some people are hesitant to talk to strangers but some people are so open that they share almost everything. Before we get down from the train, we will know the entire history of the other person. And we might make good friends with them before we get down.

Day journey

Day or night makes a huge difference in our travel. If we travel during night, mostly everyone will sleep and we end up having no fun at all but if we are doing day travel, we can observe what is happening around us and meet new people in our journey. It will be an excellent experience. Different people have different things to share with us and it is a good opportunity to socialize.

Today when we were travelling, I met a few interesting people who were coming to India from other countries for their vacation. They were all working in gulf countries and they were coming here for a short leave. I got a chance to interact with them and ask them about many things. Mostly the topics that we were talking was related to how are things in Gulf countries. Looks like one person was from Bahrain and another person was coming from Kuwait. They explained how advanced those countries are now and said many interesting things.

Taking our kid along with us in the journey was a little challenging. I thought it would be very hard but it wasn't as hard as I feared. During the travel we had some distractions for the kid that kept him occupied. In the next compartment there was another kid that was of same age of my son. We made both the kids play with each other. This is how we were able to manage the kid. Otherwise it is hard to manage train travels with kid.

Travel is fun

In those days people love travelling and train journey was one of the most common mode of travel and this interaction with strangers usually happen back in the old days too. There have been Indian movies that shows how just a train meeting builds a big relationship. Some people even find their partner from their train travel.

When I was travelling to my college, we loved the train travel so much. I had to travel almost 2 hours in train everyday and we had a gang of friends during our travel. We also made a few friends from other colleges too whom we meet in train everyday. We will be able to see so many things during the travel and it can be both good as well as bad things. It is very common.
